We were lucky to catch up with Essence Carson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Essence , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
Me always working for someone, quickly got tiring when i learned enough to begin to be on my own. Granted i was always still open to work with artist and labels. However, i always wanted my own clients and connections.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Essence Carson I’m from Dallas Tx. I am the CEO of Essence Entertainment marketing and management services. Graduated from Texas Southern University with a degree in Entertainment Marketing Management. The entertainment industry it literally was a life changing job field in a good/bad way. One negative reason due to me being a private person in this profession my life sometimes isn’t so private. One of my biggest accomplishments was receiving a Gold Plaque form the song ‘Buss It’ ft Erica banks. What sets me apart from others is I’m a young Black African female in the music industry with a superb resume, with a lot of exposure. That was a exciting and life changing event in my career. I work with mainly Rappers, Singer, and Dj’s assisting them with expanding their platforms. Apple music playlisting, bookings, media content, email exposure, label meetings, global experiences, social media marketing, content creating, and creative directing. Just to name a few of my services at Essence Entertainment. In the near future i would love to be working for a bigger record label as their house pr. Granted i would always still have my own marketing firm.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The main lessons i have learned is to stay strong and positive. Also, to know that any and everything is possible.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
There is many people / businesses that assisted me along the way. They were all meet by organic relatiships.
