We were lucky to catch up with Esmeralda Dalipi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Esmeralda, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve loved drawing and painting since I was a child—I would often fill the pages of my schoolbooks with sketches. Before starting high school, my art professor noticed my talent for painting and encouraged me to pursue it further. That summer, I took a painting course, and it solidified my decision to attend an art-focused high school. After high school, my dream became a reality when I was accepted into the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, Italy. That moment was a milestone in my creative journey, setting the foundation for everything I’ve accomplished since.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Esmeralda Dalipi, a multi-disciplinary artist and creative passionate about blending traditional fine art with contemporary expressions. My artistic journey began at a young age, nurtured by my love for art. I pursued this passion through an art-focused high school and later deepened my expertise at the renowned Accademia delle Belle Arti in Turin, Italy, where I specialized in decoration and fine arts. This education laid the foundation for my diverse and evolving artistic path.
What sets my work apart is the fusion of various art forms. As a painter, I explore both abstract and realistic styles, often incorporating textured layers to capture emotional depth. My early works drew inspiration from traditional elements, such as folkloric dances and the vibrant colors of my home country. Now, my focus has shifted to deeply personal themes inspired by my journey as a cancer survivor. Through my art, I aim to convey strength, survival, and transformation. Horses, as symbols of resilience, have become a central motif in my recent work, embodying hope and rebirth.
I also had the honor of serving as an art curator at the National Gallery in Tirana, where I curated exhibitions that connected people with art, sparking meaningful conversations and fostering inspiration. This role allowed me to merge my passion for art with my commitment to cultural enrichment.
Beyond painting, my creative practice extends into makeup artistry, nail art, and fashion. I view these disciplines as natural extensions of my artistic vision, enabling me to bring beauty and meaning into everyday life.
I want my clients who buy my art, my followers, and my fans to know that my work is driven by a genuine desire to inspire, empower, and create meaningful experiences. I hope my art is seen as an evolving narrative where creativity intersects with real life, offering beauty, hope, and transformation to the world.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My journey of resilience is deeply intertwined with my art. After my cancer diagnosis, I found myself in a place of uncertainty and fear, but it was art that consoled me and made me feel strong again. I truly believe that art is the highest form of hope—it has the power to heal, transform, and uplift.
For me, creating art became a form of therapy. It allowed me to process my emotions, find moments of peace, and rediscover my strength. I poured my journey into my work, using colors, textures, and themes to reflect not just my struggles but my survival and rebirth.
I believe in the healing process through art, not just for myself but for others too. Resilience, for me, is about embracing hope and channeling pain into something beautiful and meaningful. Art saved me in my hardest moments, and now I want it to inspire and console others as well.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
To support artists and a thriving creative ecosystem, society must value art’s role in shaping culture and connecting communities. Providing accessible funding, affordable spaces, and opportunities for collaboration is essential. Arts education should be prioritized to nurture creativity early on, and platforms that amplify artists’ voices can foster visibility. Finally, integrating art into wellness initiatives highlights its power to heal and connect, making it a vital part of our collective well-being.
