Alright, Esme thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

I’m so excited about this new chapter in my business! I recently rebranded from Eternal Perspective Photo, a name I’ve always cherished, to my new name, Emerald Photography. While I’ll always have a special place for the old name, I feel like Emerald Photography truly aligns with both my vision and my personal connection to my work. My name ‘Esmeralda’ translates to ‘Emerald’ in English, and I’ve always found that meaning to be so beautiful and fitting. I wanted something unique and meaningful that reflected my perspective without following the crowd—something personal yet distinct from the typical trend of using one’s own name in a business. Emerald Photography feels like the perfect reflection of my journey and the story I want to tell through my lens.

Hello there! My love for photography began when I was just 9 years old, after winning my first camera in a drawing competition. Although it broke soon after, my passion for capturing moments never faded. Even though my family didn’t see photography as a career, I continued taking pictures with my phone, always hunting for the best angles.

In 2020, my husband surprised me with a Canon camera, reigniting my love for photography. I started photographing our trips, focusing on LDS temples and flowers. People began noticing and asked me to take their photos, sparking something inside me. By the end of 2022, I decided to dive into photography seriously.

Now, I’m a lifestyle and wedding photographer, capturing cherished moments with true-to-color editing that keeps every scene authentic. Here’s what I offer:

Wedding Photography, Lifestyle Photography (including family sessions, individual portraits, and maternity shoots), and Event Photography.

I’m all about making your photography experience enjoyable and stress-free. By understanding your unique story and vision, I tailor each session to reflect your personality and style. My goal is to deliver high-quality, true-to-color images that you can treasure for a lifetime.

What sets me apart is my commitment to authentic storytelling through vibrant and heartfelt images. I focus on capturing genuine emotions and interactions, ensuring each photo tells a part of your story. My true-to-color editing style maintains the natural look and feel of each moment, providing you with images that are both beautiful and authentic.

I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me to capture their most important moments. Seeing their joy when they receive their photos and knowing that I’ve helped preserve those memories is incredibly fulfilling.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a photographer is capturing those beautiful, fleeting moments that tell a story. There’s something magical about freezing a moment in time, especially one filled with genuine emotion and joy. Whether it’s a couple’s first kiss as newlyweds, a family’s laughter, or the simple beauty of everyday life, each photo holds a special place in my heart.

What truly fills my soul with joy is the messages I receive when my clients receive their photos. Their happiness and gratitude mean the world to me, and knowing that I’ve helped create lasting memories is incredibly fulfilling. I also cherish the creative process—finding the perfect angle, playing with light, and capturing the essence of each person I photograph.

One of the best parts is forming connections with my clients. They trust me with their most cherished moments, and I don’t take that lightly. Each session is a unique experience, and I strive to make it enjoyable and memorable for everyone involved.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Word-of-mouth recommendations have been my absolute best resource for attracting new clients! I am incredibly grateful for every person who has come to me through past clients. Your trust and support mean the world to me, and I can’t thank you all enough!
