We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Escoria Bingham . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Escoria below.
Alright, Escoria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business after I had suffered a great loss and also health issues. At first the business was a jewelry business, but then I changed it to an herbal business for the reason above. I still kept the name because Yapah is Hebrew and it means “beautiful”. What better way to describe the herbs of the earth as beautiful jewels to healing. It wasn’t always a feeling of knowing it would work it was more of a feeling that others needed the herbs just as much as I did. You have many others in the herbal field and sometimes things can get competitive but I don’t see competition I just see me doing my own thing. The only problem I wanted to solve was helping others heal like I help myself. I was most excited about this idea and this line of work because it wasn’t something that was implemented earlier on in life but now I have the opportunity to share with others who want to empower natural healing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I am originally from Tallulah, Louisiana. It’s a small town where a I grew up, some call it a city, lol. My passion for the business industry stemmed from watching my mom be something like a Storage Wars candidate. She created her own way doing her own thing and I have always felt inspired by that. In turn, I started my own business; and I knew it had to be something I loved not only something that made money. Doing what you love matters, you just can’t see it as a job but more of a purpose. My purpose is to empowering natural healing, that is not only physically but mentally as well. Those things along inspired me to break into the health and wellness field.
I am still in the process of working on many products that will provide those and young and old with natural remedies and products that doesn’t cost them their health in return. Big Pharma does play its part in hurting the people medically, and I am here to let others know they too can heal naturally and healthy using earth’s herbal elements.
My proudest moment in my work is when I’m answering questions and providing information to those who are willingly looking for more natural ways to care for themselves and their families.
You can find more information about myself/brand/vision on Instagram @yapahsjewels and I also have a website www.yapahsjewels.com where I sale natural herbs, herbal supplements, and other products .
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What I think helped build my reputation within my market is having the faith that it would work. Sometimes in life things don’t always work out as we plan; and we get discouraged and move on to the next project. I admit that I did that very thing, but I could never shake the feeling of all the love that was in my heart for wanting to help others heal. I study at least 30 or more herbs at a time, I research the scientific evidence of what has been proven and what hasn’t and I provide that information to my people. And if possible the product that helps with or cures the ailment or illness.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The only real and true story that I have that illustrates my resilience for this is losing my first child. She abruptly passed away after being born due to anencephaly, which was from a lack of folic acid. At that time, I did not know about all the required minerals my body needed to function or even produce a full human. I don’t ponder on what could have happened different because it lead to where I am today with healing. Sometime shortly after that, I developed SJS (Steven Johnson Syndrome) it is a rare skin disorder that is often caused by your body reacting to certain medicines, particularly some types of: epilepsy medicines. antibiotics. anti-inflammatory painkillers. I happened to develop by it painkillers given to me after pregnancy. These two incidents lead me where I am today and I will continue to promote natural health and wellness.
