Eryka, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Well honestly it started young for me at age 3 my grand pa had me playing around on the piano then came dance instruments as time went on then eventually I got into reading and writing very heavily I used to write short stories as an kid . BASICALLY WITH THE STAGE I WAS BORN FOR IT I AM OVER ALL THE LIFE OF THE PARTY IN HIDING LOL NO REALLY SO IM CHILL AND VERY FUN AT TIMES I LOVE TO GOVE A GREAT SHOW AND SEE EVERYONE HAPPY
Eryka, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well my name is eryka but I refer to to be called “big extra” or Extra I’m 26 years old born and raised from Buffalo ny , well as I said I was raised around music I danced I sang pretty much did it all it’s very much what I ended up wanting to do and make an great impact while doing it , I an artist I write and create my own music I am EXTRA 4 real .im most proud of the fact that I really had the opportunity to to try out acting and other jobs and found my niche and that’s music. I’ve been on reality show called ink I love you ! I’ve been in front of many high ranking people it has taught me that you can do this and u can learn a lot in your journey . LIKE I SAID IM BIG EXTRA EVERYTHING IS EXTRA WHEN IT COME TO ME I HSVE MY OWN ARTIST GROUP CALLED BEYOND IMMENSITY GAINS WE ARE AN GROUP OF ARITST HELP BUILDING OURSELVES UP AND ALSO OUR COMMUNITY ! I am amc records artist , model for m.o.g magazine I tour with a huge artist (cb) I’m excited to show u what im about and can bring
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Honestly it will take a major change or shift in the music the tv shows movies streams etc for the ecosystem to come as one I feel as tho there should be more programs that can provide more access to other resources an artist or creators may not have or can’t get to . I also think it everything should be ran as one to make it easier
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I remember this time where I had three shows and an interview plus an studio session and court all in one day , but guess what it didn’t stop me I managed my time effectively to where I met all the deadlines if it was secs late also while still having to gear up for next week set of shows barely little to no sleep but made it work . Or my first recording I ever did I was so frustrated but believe it or not in one take it was fire
