We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Erony Minix a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Erony, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

The biggest, most successful risk I have taken to date is starting Red Rouge Romantic Wear. I do not come from a business background so launching my business was a huge risk yet I have absolutely NO REGRETS! I remember I was in graduate school studying for my Masters in Social work. I was up and laying in bed at like 3 something in the morning looking up at the ceiling. I just remember saying to myself, “God, it has GOT TO BE more to life than this!”. Don’t get me wrong I was happy with my professional choice but I just always felt like it had to be more to my life than doing a traditional 9-5 Monday through Friday career until I am old, shriveled up and that life has passed before you know it. God put on my heart to start my business. I will never forget I was afraid, nervous and broke but I was confident once God spoke to me and I have been unstoppable ever since. There has been some some slow seasons and busy seasons but I have a fire lit in me that makes me unstoppable whether its a slow season or not! I’m not stopping until I make it. My decision to start Red Rouge Romantic Wear has been a success for me! It has been a phenomenal journey and I can’t wait for the continued growth and success of my brand!

Erony, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Let’s start with my name :) My name is Erony Minix and I hail from the BEST city in the world… Houston, Texas! I started Red Rouge Romantic Wear because God put it on my heart to do so. Red Rouge Romantic Wear is a luxury romantic wear brand that I started in 2018 literally at my dining room table that caters to the everyday woman with our vast sexy, comfy selection of romantic wear lingerie pieces. As women, we wear SO many different hats as most of us are professional women, mothers, wives/girlfriends, etc. and we tend to put ourselves last. So, I created a space where ALL women can enjoy a luxurious experience from placing order on our website until a successful delivery of your beauty mail. Our team meticulously hand picks select items that will appeal to different tastes and styles so that you have more options to select from such as gowns, 2 piece sets, teddies, cosplay sets, and accessories that create the ultimate experience not just for your partners but especially for You! Red Rouge Romantic Wear is all about YOU!

A major conflict that we solve together WITH our clients is the restoration of their confidence and reigniting of the fire in their love lives between them and their partners. But most importantly the reminder that we all need from time to time that SELF LOVE is the BEST LOVE. You can’t love anybody until you learn to love yourself! Though it is fun to entertain others, you do not need a partner to treat yourself to beautiful, quality Red Rouge Romantic Wear pieces nor to feel beautiful. Remind yourself every chance that you get that you are worth it! You deserve to spoil yourself and It feels good as a woman to treat yourself and what you wear under your clothes and to bed is just as important as your outer wear! When you look good, you feel good! I can’t express how happy my heart is when I get messages from clients stating that they are so happy with their pieces and that they feel beautiful after spoiling themselves and wearing our pieces. Money is great but for me, my clients feeling just as beautiful as they are is the epitome of Red Rouge Romantic Wear! The goal is to create beautiful memories!

We pride ourselves on our customer service and are constantly doing research and updating packaging, websites, marketing etc. to provide you with an experience that is smooth and pleasurable transactionally and aesthetically. I love the fact that my clients and I have an intimate experience and can chit chat about everything. I respond to all DMs as well as have an email and chat option where my clients and I can connect. I want their experience with Red Rouge Romantic Wear to be an intimate, personable experience, so we have created that space where you are not just a “Sale” but a “Beauty” (client) and we pride ourselves on that.

If we have to leave our Beauties with one thing about Red Rouge Romantic Wear, it would be that when we say that we are GRATEFUL for your unwavering support, we MEAN it! Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

The most helpful reminder for succeeding in my field and in any field for that matter is believing in yourself! It is amazing to have supporters and individuals that root for you, but the reality is everyone is not going to support you and everyone isn’t going to believe in your vision and unfortunately that even means those that we love as well. But, that is why I preach so much about self love because it is a CRITICAL part of your life! When you feel alone and if you look around and you KNOW that you are alone, it might sting but all things good and bad are temporary, BELIEVING in yourself is what keeps you moving and keeps your dreams alive! If you stop believing in yourself, than your dreams die. But every day is a new opportunity to change not just your life for the better but someone else’s life as well. We are constantly on display to others but every night, we lay head to pillow ALONE! so BELIEVE in YOU, it will change your life literally.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson that I had to unlearn and not take personally was that all family and friends will support you. That is the farthest thing from the truth! Initially, it bothered me so much I began to reach out to new business friends that I had met during my journey just to make sure that I wasn’t tripping or overreacting about my feelings on the situation. They also began to state that they were experiencing the same things. I learned quickly that strangers become clients quicker than family or friends will and that’s ok! So, I learned not to focus on who wasn’t supporting me but to be grateful for those who were. That supports my last point that everyone is not going to understand your vision. And that’s ok because God, hard work and consistency will place those in your life that do understand your vision! And after that it’s go time!
