We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ernesto Zapata urrutiabeascoa. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ernesto below.
Ernesto, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Embarking on my artistic journey as a sculptor later in life has been both challenging and rewarding. While many artists may have started their creative paths earlier, I bring a unique perspective and life experience to my work. I believe that art knows no age, and my late start has only fueled my passion to express my creativity through sculpture. Every piece I create is a testament to the endless possibilities of art, no matter when you begin.
Ernesto, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My artistic journey started from a place of curiosity and a deep appreciation for the power of three-dimensional art. I have always been fascinated by the transformative nature of sculpture, where a material can be shaped into something that evokes emotion and tells a story.
In terms of my creative works, I specialize in a variety of sculptural styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary. My portfolio includes figurative sculptures, abstract pieces, and even some experimental, avant-garde creations.
For potential clients, followers, I want them to know that my art is a reflection of life’s complexity, and it speaks to the shared experiences of humanity. My brand represents a fusion of experience and passion, offering sculptural creations that provoke thought, stir emotion, and invite dialogue. I welcome all who appreciate the transformative power of art to join me on this artistic journey. Thank you for your support and for sharing in the beauty of sculpture.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Education and Awareness: Teach art in schools from the earliest grades to college. Let people know how important art is and how artists make our world more colorful.
Public Art: Put art in public places where everyone can see it. This makes our towns and cities more beautiful and helps us feel like a community.
Exhibition Spaces: Make places where artists can show their work. When more people can see their art, it helps artists become famous and lets more people enjoy their art.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal as a sculptor is to create art that is not just visually appealing but emotionally and intellectually engaging, serving as a medium for the expression human. I want my sculptures to connect with people on a personal level, inviting them to contemplate and appreciate the beauty and depth of the human experience.
