We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erin Wright. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erin below.
Erin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Before starting Sincerely, Addison, I worked in the wedding stationery industry for a few years. Spending the time learning from others was a huge help to me before going out on my own.
I have always had an interest in design and began working at a stationery store. This store taught me so much about paper, printing, and design. This became the base of my knowledge in creating wedding invitations. In addition, the store also taught me what goes into running a small business. The joys and struggles that come along with it, the risk of expanding too soon, or not quickly enough, the stress of finding the right employees, the importance of customer service, and relationships with vendors. There is so much that goes into running a business – a beautiful product is just the start! From there, I worked for a few other stationery stores. I was able to see different methods of running a similar business. I was introduced to new vendors and products and was able to find what worked best for what I wanted to create.
I think having all of this background information was essential for me to have the confidence to start my own business. I do think there is a lot of trial and error in any business. As my business continues to grow and evolve, I have new processes and products than what I had when starting. I am continuing to learn. Overall, I think the best way to get started is to talk to and work with those in the industry that interests you. Learn from them, and build you knowledge in the product. Once you have a good base, the everyday details will be easier to work through!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Erin Wright and I am the owner of Sincerely, Addison. We are a custom stationery company that specializes in wedding paper. I started Sincerely, Addison a few years ago because I wanted my couples to have invitations that had special meaning to them. I loved the idea of creating a personalized item for such a big day. The invitations are the first thing your guests see that has to do with your wedding. I wanted to make sure my couples were sending something that really represented them and their special day. I have so much fun meeting with my couples, talking through their vision and style, and finding those special touches to include!
We also go so much further than invitations, we help with all wedding stationery – menus, programs, welcome signs, seating charts, even cocktail napkins with your sweet puppy’s face on them! Nothing makes us happier than after the wedding when we get to continue to be included in our couples lives with birth announcements, party invitations, holiday cards and other paper for those milestone moments!
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The majority of my clients come from referrals. I truly believe I have some of the best clients and am so thankful that they recommend me to their friends and family. I think as long as you offer great customer service and have respect for your client’s, they will want to see you succeed. I also make connections with others in my industry. We support each other and help each other grow.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love the moment of seeing my couple’s receive their printed invitations. To go from an initial invitation consultation where we are dreaming of ideas to design concept proofs, multiple rounds of changes to make sure the details are just right, and then for them to get to hold the final product in their hands – the joy of the receiving the final product makes me so happy. I get to be a small part of a really important moment in someones life and that gives me so much joy.
