We were lucky to catch up with Erin Nutini recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erin, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
Our team at Ian Taylor Trekking has the ability to work remotely. We provide high end trekking adventures all over the world and traveling is a part of our job to connect with our teams and guides. I have taken remote work to another level. I currently live in my van full time. I am fortunate that my work revolves around contact through email so that allows me to work from anywhere.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The Ian Taylor Trekking mission is much more than offering high quality trekking adventures. Our focus is on running the highest quality trekking trips by investing in the local people we work with. We want to see our teams around the world grow, develop and be successful in their communities. Our fully licensed trekking company is winning awards for the way we approach altitude which is different from everyone else. We have our own full time, highly qualified staff on the ground in most of the key locations we operate in. Ian Taylor Trekking is a world leader in offering quality treks and climbs in Nepal and on Kilimanjaro. We are a US company based in Eagle-Vail, Colorado.
I live in Colorado, making the Rockies my outdoor playground. I am a nature lover and adventurer seeker. Setting people up for success so they get to experience our epic trips of a lifetime is a joy for me to be a part of. We are working to make every trip we offer a safe, quality and memorable experience you will want others to experience.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to travel and experience our trips that we offer is very rewarding. I am also a photographer so this allows me to connect to my position on another level. It allows me to document our trips first hand so that I can share information and experiences with our clients to help answer their questions. I want to connect with our teams in other countries and learn how they live and work and hopefully help us all to have a good and happy life.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Like for many, Covid forced me to pivot. I took a step back to reevaluate my current path as I had no clue what direction to go in. It ended up being a blessing in disguise. It forced me to slow down, pause and use my creativity to make money, without relying on another source of income. Then timing worked out and the opportunity to join the Ian Taylor Trekking team lined up!
