We were lucky to catch up with Erin Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I grew up with two passions, one for the health and wellness world and one for the creative world. I always had a dream to combine the two visions, but I struggled to find a way to do so. In 2015 I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Psychology and later went on to go back to Nursing School. I have been a registered nurse for the past 5 years and truly love the ability to help others and work in the wellness world, but the creative side was missing; and that is where the idea for branching out onto social media started. I wanted to work with likeminded individuals who had a passion for living a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle while still enjoying life. I started dabbling with lifestyle and fitness content, until one day my friend said she had been loving my travel page. Something that I had been posting regularly but never thought about, and it clicked, travel content. One of my greatest passions in life is seeing the world, experiences new cultures, new experiences, seeing the beauty the world has to offer, and creating lifelong memories. The content came easy because I enjoyed it so much and I wanted to share that with others. I wanted to show people what the world has to offer and that it wasn’t as daunting to plan and map out as it seems. I wanted to show people you don’t have to spend a fortune if you know the right tricks, and that traveling will change your entire perspective on life. So I started sharing itineraries of the places I would travel, tips and tricks for traveling, where to go if you wanted to see specific things and so on.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I grew up traveling a bit and instantly fell in love. I was lucky enough to become an exchange student in Germany when I was 15 years old and from then on, there was no going back, it was addiction that I couldn’t get enough of. I was so fascinated with experiencing the world, trying new foods, learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and taking in every single experience and view I could find. I learned how to use credit card points for flights, how to figure out where the best places to go would be, how to make it affordable, how to find the best local spots, how to create the best itinerary, how to look for scams, and I learned through every mistake I made from every trip and became very good at planning trips.
Now I get to share that with others that love to travel, or want to try traveling out, or are just wanting to go on holiday! I create itineraries for the places I’ve been, show bucket list places, where to travel too at certain times of the year, find amazing trip deals, show people how to find the best deals and use their credit card points in the most effective way and so much more. I am even in the midst of creating a website to be able to work one on one with people to create a more custom trip and create full scale itineraries for everywhere I have traveled. I’ve never looked back at my travels and regretted a memory, and that is what I want to show people. I want them to experience those joyful moments and to create those core memories.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first started on social media I really leaned into the knowledge I had from my degree in kinesiology and my personal training certification. While fitness will always be a part of my life, and something I will continue to share pieces of, I truly feel like integrating travel in such a dominate way has made not only doing it more fun, but I have been able to connect with so many more people. I think that is the amazing thing about social media, you find your people, and you connect with likeminded people who share something in common; people you may have never met otherwise. I think that the more passionate you are about a subject the more genuine it is and the easier it is to do the work, because to you it doesn’t feel like work.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was a nurse during the pandemic, I worked in the hospital at the time and while I will never be able to fully explain that time period to someone who didn’t live it, it is something that helped shaped me into the person I am. When you leave the day after holding someone’s hand who’s loved on passed away or send more people away in a body bag then you would like to imagine it changes you. For some I think it makes them harder and colder, because that’s the only way to get through it, and in some ways that’s true even for me; but it also showed me to experience the joy while you have time to do it. Don’t wait until you retire to take the trip, make the memories throughout your life, because otherwise you might miss it.
