Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Newman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Erin, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Just recently, I launched my Abundance Academy program and only had 2 people sign up for it. I definitely had one of those moments of thinking, “Is this worth it? Should I just go back and get a job?
But then the next day, I woke up, meditated, worked out, leisurely drove to Starbucks for a few hours of uninterrupted writing and marketing…and remembered that I’m creating something bigger than a launch or even a single program: I’m creating a life I love living.
I think all entrepreneurs occasionally question what they’re doing or whether it would be easier to just get a job again. And while in some respects things are easier in a job…I could never go back to working for someone else’s dreams again.
My dreams are more important than the false security of a job. (And so are yours!)
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My clients are women who have it pretty good, but somewhere along the way, they lost their spark. They’re going in a new direction in their lives and businesses and are finally ready to shed the old programs and patterns that tell that they can’t truly do what they love.
The work is focused on releasing the mind gremlins that tell us “You’re not enough, you can’t do it, etc.” so that you can truly follow your biggest dreams with ease and joy. Often, but not always, that means making more money while taking full control of your time and energy.
My process combines soul journeying work with spirit guides, EFT/Tapping, and deeper manifesting practices, in either a one-on-one six month coaching program or smaller masterminds and group programs.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy is always making connections.
Any ways you can connect with others in some form is the best one. We spend so much time searching for the perfect social media, the perfect way to write a post, the perfect way to do anything, actually…but the best solution is the one that allows you to connect in a way that feels good.
For me, that’s Facebook, speaking at others’ events, networking, and hosting my own events. I host a monthly online networking group for spiritual entrepreneurs as well as retreats and one-day workshops, both virtually and in-person.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Books that changed my life and informed my entrepreneurial journey:
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle – remaining in the present moment is the best advice for anyone, including business owners.
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – a philosophy for life, especially to never take anything personally. That alone will change the entire trajectory of your business.
Get Rich, Lucky Bitch by Denise Duffield Thomas – changed my money mindset entirely and set me on the path of examining money beliefs in my life and in business, which I now held clients with, also.
