We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erin Mangini. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erin below.
Erin, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Being successful to a lot of people entails making money or gaining clients but to me it’s more than that. It’s doing my job with passion and having a mission. Being able to provide a service and have my clients say, “Thank you! These mean so much to me” means the world to me. That’s what I define as success. You can’t run a successful business without honoring the people who contributed to that.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Erin and I’m a photographer at Erin Mangini Photo. I’ve been in business about 3 years now and have been so happy to give my clients a product they can look back on. I strive to listen to my clients and put every emotion in my work. I’m most proud of getting to know my clients beforehand so I can incorporate those small details in my families portraits. My clients truly make my work pop the way that it does — they are the beauty, I just capture it.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The biggest pivot in my business has been taking a step back due to school and work. I do photography in my free time all while working a full time job and going to school full time to become a nurse. During busy season I take on everything I can because when school gets busy, I have to take a step back. At first it was insanely hard to give up this passion, but I still have clients reach out and they are so understanding when I take a hiatus that I know when I come back, they will be here.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes. Seeing my pictures posted and cherished in someone’s home gives me so much comfort. This in particular lets me know that I do this for them and never for money or greed.
