Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to ERIN HINES. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi ERIN , thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I will be known as a hard worker above everything else. Hard work hasn’t always translated into overall financial success but no one will ever doubt the effort I put in.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I produce small batch bitters from homegrown and locally sourced ingredients. I have been in the service industry for most of my life and have spent 18 years working behind bars and creating cocktails. I am proud of the fact that I am still doing it today. It has been over 8 years since I started the business. I have worked as a full-time bartender and boot-strapped the business all by myself. And I am a single mom. I think that most challenging part has been staying in it. When it’s just you, you are your only motivation. You have to be your own success. You don’t have a boss telling you what to do or when to keep going. There were many nights of bartending until late and then coming home and bottling until early morning. But it didn’t get done if I didn’t do it. There are many times where I wanted to give it all up and just work my bartending job. But I stuck with it and now I am signing a lease on a warehouse space, ordering a bottling line and making the jump to being a full-time business owner and operator.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think every day of being a small business owner requires resilience. Some days are rewarding and others make you question why you started a business in the first place. I think being able to be resilient every day is what makes a business owner successful. You are alone in your ups and down. You have to be able to support yourself and push through the hard days.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
