We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erin Hanson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erin below.
Erin, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My business’s mission is to help entrepreneurs, influencers, musicians, and more unlock their biggest successes! We’ve been helping hundreds of clients reach the next level, from creating viral social media campaigns and maintaining digital presences for busy celebs or businesses, providing creative services, and now offering print services on top of it all. I can with 100% confidence say that our marketing technique has helped small musicians become huge in the music industry—which others could only dream about before—while also supporting small businesses and helping them to grow into big ones. Through our innovative approach combined with quality printing options, we are proud to stand out from the competition!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up in the suburbs of Illinois, I always wanted to move to Chicago and work in the music industry. My family packed up and headed to Indiana to be closer to family when I was in 4th grade. Once I got a little older, I realized if I wanted to work in the industry doing what I loved (photography), I’d have to move to where there was more opportunity in that specific niche. In my 20s, I moved to Chicago and started helping the local venues “flyer” the town to go to free shows, and eventually got hired on. I quickly started meeting and working with musicians—some small, some quite large—and eventually became a few different local bands photographer. I even did event photography for Corona at one point. I quickly realized that not only being a female in the industry was tough, but getting paid work was hard due to the oversaturation of this amazing hobby. I had to come up with a plan so I decided to start helping artists with social media and eventually expanded to helping really anyone who needed my help in marketing. I had all the experience in the world under my belt at this point but no degree, and I really wanted people to take me more seriously. After establishing my LLC, I graduated from Rasmussen with a Bachelor’s in Marketing. Now each year, I’ve been growing more and more and meeting so many amazing people along the way.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Being faced with a pandemic that caused many of my therapist clients to no longer be able to have their sessions in person was daunting. That meant cutting their own budget, and I was usually the first to go. I decided the best way forward was by pivoting quickly and adding influencers, who experienced increased success due to being popular on TikTok at the time, giving me an easy solution. Despite feeling scared initially, this realization reminded why I started my business – for financial stability and security for myself & family; A reminder that even when times are tough, we can always find new ways through adversity toward our goals!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped build my reputation within my market was showing people worldwide that they could trust me. I always hold true to my promises. I make sure to have a quick turnaround and prioritize everything, which ends up working out (pushing me ahead), leaving my clients happy!
