We were lucky to catch up with Erin Faccenda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
I feel it is 100% necessary to ask your friends and family for support. In order for a small business to grow, friends and family members need to help spread the word. Word of mouth is one of the most effective forms of advertising. It costs nothing to support a small business, whether it is liking their business page or sharing a post. It is important to get all the support you need while you are trying to grow your brand.
The appropriate approach to asking friends and family to support your business is by asking them to share your posts and to like your business page on social media. I will never ask my family or friends to purchase something from me. I feel like that is where I draw the line. Asking for people to purchase your products or artwork comes off as pushy. People will fall in love with your artwork and purchase in time on their own terms.

Erin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It all began in 2016 when I was looking at expensive jewelry online and thought to myself, “I bet I can make this instead of buying it.” At the time, I was not a crafty person nor did I even know how to use tools like pliers. I decided to take a few beading and wire wrapping classes at a local bead shop. The rest, as they say, is history and that was when Erin Rebecca Jewelry LLC was born.
Erin Rebbeca Jewelry offers an elegant array of handcrafted, wire-wrapped jewelry. Intricately detailed pieces created from hand-selected gemstones, inspired by various forms of art, shapes, and nature. I am most proud of the quality of my workmanship and the love I put into each piece. What sets me apart from others is the amount of time I spend in the polishing and finishing stage of my jewelry-making process, perfecting every detail. To achieve a successful design, I always put myself in the customer’s shoes. If I were the customer, I would want to buy a piece that looks and feels secure, elegant, and neatly wire-wrapped.
One of the most common problems my customers have is choosing the proper chain length for the pendant they are purchasing. I remedied that problem by providing them with an image showing the different chain lengths. Visuals are always super helpful to customers. Some customers have had issues with the cleaning process, so now I include a complimentary jewelry polishing cloth with every order with cleaning instructions.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to create quality, one-of-a-kind jewelry that reaches the level of wearable art. My mission is to create pieces that make people feel and look beautiful. Nothing makes me happier than seeing how excited my customers are when they receive their jewelry in the mail!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing my creations come to life. Every new design starts out as just a sketch. Planning out every curve and swirl of the wire and watching it transform into a beautiful piece is one of the most amazing feelings in the world.
