Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Christensen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Erin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?

I am very happy creating baking and decorating content. My work is enjoyable every day, and I love that I am able to be creative, spend time coming up with my own ideas, and having the flexibility to bring these to life while sharing them with others. It provides me the ability to pursue success while still supporting my family as a stay-at-home-mother to our three children.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I began my business as an in-home cottage food producer, taking custom orders from customers in my area for birthdays, weddings, showers, and other celebrations, and sharing these on my social media accounts. Followers would often ask me how I would accomplish particular looks or techniques, so I began filming my processes to be able to share methods and tips with followers and friends. This quickly grew into full-length YouTube video tutorials, written tutorials, recipes, and DIY kits on my website.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

The best advice I can give here is to always strive for uniquity. Try to set yourself apart from everyone else on the internet. Post your work regularly, and enjoy engaging on others’ posts too!

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

The best society can do to support artists and creatives (that doesn’t cost a thing!) is to watch our videos, comment on our pictures, ask questions, and enjoy consuming creative content.
