Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Brooks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Erin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

My biggest risk I’ve taken is deciding to take the step in becoming a streamer and playing my games online for the world to see. I got my start in July of 2023, after much convincing from someone who had been trying to get me to do so since January of that year because they saw how much I loved to game. At my last job being a healthcare professional, any chance I had on my breaks or lunch, I’d be on my phone gaming to the point where I even had my coworkers and manager gathered around invested in my gameplays. Looking back at it, that served as a prerequisite to my streaming/ content creator career today. Honestly, if you told me at that time I’d be playing games and making money from my passion of gaming, I would’ve just laughed it off but it’s turned into a beautiful career and I’ve met so many wonderful, genuine individuals.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m a mobile streamer who originally started on PC, but after an accident with my PC system in February of this year, I’ve rebranded myself into “GamrHigh, your mobile streaming ally”. I broke into the industry in July 2023 after much convincing from someone who had been trying to get me to stream since January of the same year because they saw my love of gaming. I stream any and all kinds of games all from my phone (shoutout to Xbox gamepass!). My favorite genre of games are story based, but I’ll try any game at least once. Whatever my supporters want to see me play, I’m more than willing to give it a try!

Have you ever had to pivot?

It was earlier this year, in February, my PC stopped working while I was trying to run a new game. After some time, I’d say a month, my curiosity piqued…I thought to myself “how can I continue to stream and make some kind of gaming content without a PC or console?”. That’s when I headed to YouTube, got to researching, one video led to another, and here I am today!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My only goal is to reach people who are looking for an authentic community and good fellowship. All too often in this industry I see everyone following the latest “trend” or what’s “viral”, then you see people start to feel that peer pressure of trying to fit in. In my community with my supporters, you’ll never feel such pressure to be what society considers “cool”; I’m very persistent in my message of spreading good energy, good laughs, and overall having a great time!
