Erin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
Someone asked if I could crochet their dog (which had passed away) that the idea for my business started.
Since then I’ve been making crochet plushes of peoples pets.
Erin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Erin.
I am the owner of Erin’s Yarn Art a business I have been running for about 2-3 years now.
I got into crocheting when my daughter (who is now 12) was around 4. I taught myself through Youtube and was able to make her clothes.
Crocheting was just a relaxing hobby for me for years, until I came across a Baby Yoda crochet pattern and made it.
I had lots of people asking if I could make them one so I started to crochet commissions for people.
But the business that I have today truly started when I was asked if I could crochet a pet that an owner lost.
The idea of recreating pets was something I fell in love with.
I absolutely love getting to know each dog and cat I make.
I try to crochet them as accurately as possible to the real life pet.
It’s the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.
I love being able to give back a little bit of what someone lost and help them heal.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love the ability to give back to my clients.
Some of my clients are still living in which I love seeing my art right next to the dog or cat I recreated.
And sadly some of my clients pets have passed.
In that case I’m able to help the owners heal and give them a replica of the pet that they lost.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
My clients are very special to me.
I keep in touch with my clients through e-mails, social media, and my website.
Because of what I do I work very personally with my clients and I get to know their pets.
It creates a very special relationship because I am making someone they love, which I find very important for my business
