We were lucky to catch up with Erika Wetherill recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erika, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
After graduating from the University of North Texas I got my first job and was working in a cubicle and did not enjoy it! I got my first facial shortly after that and I was like “this is so cool and this is what I want to do!” I promptly went back to school for my Esthetics license and I have been so very happy with my decision!
Erika, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I work for Monarch Plastic Surgery and Skin Rejuvenation Center. I love being able to work with not only nurse injectors but also with Plastic Surgeons. We are a great trifecta! I offer Hydrafacials, Skinpen, VI peels, PRX peels, Halo laser, Laser Hair reduction, EMSCULPT body treatments, Profractional Laser, BBL, Radio Frequency Microneedling and Skin tightening. I really enjoy giving my clients a customized gamplan including Medical grade skincare as well as RX skincare.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I feel that knowledge is power in my industry. I try to learn as much as I can about skincare as I possibly can. This includes trainings as well as reading and researching as much as I can so I can be prepared to help someone address their skincare needs. Being in the industry for 20 years has taught me so much!
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes, if I could go back I would most definitely choose this same profession! If I could go back I would have used my 4 year college degree to be a nurse as well!
