Erika and Emily, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

We had been working together for a couple of years in the corporate world putting on events. We learned how to leverage each other’s strengths and complement each other as a team. We had always talked about starting our own business together and tailoring it to celebrations and corporate events. We finally decided to stop talking about starting our own business and just do it! It’s always scary putting yourself out there like that, but the events industry has welcomed us with open arms and it has been so heartwarming to meet such wonderful people.

There are so many amazing wedding planners in Kansas City, but we saw a gap in the events industry for planners who solely do private events. Our event niche is life celebrations such as baby showers, birthdays, retirement parties, bachelorette parties, as well as corporate events and grand openings.

Our goal for Parte was to create unique events and experiences for our clients. We love when a client comes to us with an idea or need and we can create a cohesive look and feel to bring their event to life. We take the stress of planning off of our clients hands and allow them to focus on the excitement of the event, while we manage the details.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?

We both started out in corporate event planning at a marketing agency and have been doing that for over 5 years together. We made a lot of vendor connections in Kansas City through our corporate events which helped us when we launched Parte. We provide customized, creative, and unique event themes, concepts and ideas for our clients. We specialize in any private event like corporate, baby showers, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, dinner parties, etc. What sets us apart from others is our marketing and creative agency background that gives us a bit of a creative edge. We also both still work full time at our agency jobs so Parte gives us the opportunity to fuel our passion for specalized events. We’re most proud of how successful Parte has been this far – we’ve had some dream clients that we couldnt have imagined would hire us a year ago. We strive for perfection and we’re both very organized so no detail goes missing throughout the planning process. Whether it is a 20 person event or a 200 person event, we always strive to make the process and event as seamless and organized as possible.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source of new clients has mostly been referrals from past clients, the vendors we work with and word of mouth. Leveraging social media has been huge as well when people stumble upon our page after seeing an event we’ve done or someone shares a post with them. We love using social media to highlight the work we’ve done, as well as share Monday Mood Board inspo for future clients to pull ideas from.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

One of the biggest things we’ve learned with social media is to keep it authentic and don’t try too hard. In the beginning, we were just posting to make sure we had timely posts up but lately we’ve learned it’s all about the reels and the content of those reels. Instagram and Tik Tok are the main place we host our content. A lot of people are searching through reels on Instagram and on Tik Tok for party theme ideas, so that’s where we try to focus our time. Additionally, we have worked with other vendors to provide enticing giveaways to help build up our Instagram following.
