Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erica Shepard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Erica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s go back in time a bit – can you share a story of a time when you learned an important lesson during your education?
My prior educational background has given me a comprehensive foundation including a deep understanding of design principles such as scale and proportion. For example, I recently worked with a client who was wanting to showcase their space in the best possible light and was challenged with their current layout. The issue they were having was with scale and proportion. Their Great Room was very large and expansive but their furniture layout was small and uninviting. I walked them through difference scenarios to make the space feel more connected, functional and inviting. By using oversize sofas, matching wing back lounge chairs, large fireplace with a grand stone mantel that became the focal point and area rug that grounded the space, We create what was once a disconnected expansive space to an intimate and comfortable lounge setting for our client and their family.

Erica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
