We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erica Rosello. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erica below.
Hi Erica, thanks for joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
I personally manage the social media for my permanent makeup studio. Social media is not just a marketing tool for me; it’s an extension of my brand and a way to connect authentically with my clients. By taking the reins myself, I ensure that every post, story, and interaction reflects the heart and vision of my business.
I chose to manage my own social media because I understand the importance of being hands-on in an industry where trust and personal connections are everything. Sharing my work, answering questions, and engaging directly with clients allows me to build credibility and showcase my expertise. This approach has paid off tremendously—I’ve seen consistent growth in followers, increased engagement, and, most importantly, a steady stream of new clients who say they feel confident booking because they’ve gotten to know my work and personality online.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity always wins. Whether you manage your social media yourself or hire a team, it’s crucial to maintain a genuine voice and showcase your unique expertise. People want to connect with a real person, not just a brand. Consistency is another key—show up regularly with high-quality content that speaks to your ideal clients. Finally, don’t underestimate the power of engagement. Replying to comments and DMs shows that you value your audience, and it builds trust, which is the foundation of any successful business.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Erica, and I’m the owner and artist behind Artistre Ink, a permanent makeup studio located in West Palm Beach, Florida. My journey into this industry was born from a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. Having always been drawn to art and beauty, I discovered permanent makeup as the perfect way to blend my artistic abilities with my desire to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives.
At Artistre Ink, I specialize in advanced techniques like powder brows and lip blushing. These services are designed to enhance natural beauty in subtle, yet transformative ways. I also offer professional teeth whitening, adding another layer of self-care to my clients’ experience. While I don’t offer microblading, I focus on providing cutting-edge treatments that deliver superior results in both appearance and longevity.
The biggest problem I solve for my clients is confidence. Many come to me feeling insecure about sparse eyebrows, uneven lip tones, or other aesthetic concerns. My work helps them wake up every day feeling polished and ready to take on the world—no filters or lengthy makeup routines required. For clients who’ve had prior work done, I offer complementary consultations to ensure their needs are met with the utmost professionalism and care.
What sets Artistre Ink apart is my unwavering commitment to excellence. I believe in a personalized approach—taking the time to understand each client’s unique features, goals, and concerns. My studio is a judgment-free space where artistry meets precision, and I take immense pride in the trust my clients place in me.
I’m most proud of the transformations I’ve been able to create—not just in my clients’ appearances but in their confidence and self-esteem. Seeing someone smile after their service because they feel like the best version of themselves is what drives me every day.
What I want potential clients to know is this: my work is about more than aesthetics; it’s about empowerment. At Artistre Ink, you’re not just getting a service—you’re stepping into a space where your individuality is celebrated and your natural beauty is enhanced with care and expertise. Whether you’re looking for subtle enhancements or bold changes, I’m here to help you achieve your vision.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When I first started in the permanent makeup industry, I approached it with an open heart, eager to share my knowledge and help others grow. I believed that collaboration and generosity were the keys to not only personal success but also to uplifting the entire community of artists. However, I learned the hard way that not everyone shares those same values.
I had experiences where people took advantage of my willingness to share—whether it was clients who weren’t honest about their needs or fellow artists who used my support for their own benefit without reciprocation or even acknowledgment. At first, these experiences made me question whether I should keep giving so freely. It hurt to realize that not everyone operates with integrity or the desire to see others succeed.
But through reflection, I realized that my core belief in sharing knowledge and helping others grow is something I’m deeply proud of and don’t want to lose. The key was finding balance: learning to protect myself and my boundaries while continuing to be a resource for those who genuinely want to learn and grow.
Today, I continue to mentor and support fellow artists because I believe in the power of lifting others up. What’s changed is my approach—I’ve learned to trust my instincts, set boundaries, and focus on building relationships with people who align with my values. This experience has made me wiser and more resilient, and I’m grateful for the lessons it taught me about discernment and self-worth.
At the end of the day, my commitment to empowering others and fostering growth in the industry remains unwavering. Helping others grow doesn’t diminish my success—it strengthens it.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
In the permanent makeup industry, authenticity goes a long way. Clients want to know they’re choosing someone they can trust, someone who genuinely cares about their needs and well-being. I’ve found that by being transparent, approachable, and consistent in my messaging—both online and in-person—I’m able to build that trust. Whether it’s sharing behind-the-scenes moments, educating clients about procedures, or showing real results, being authentic helps potential clients feel connected to me before they even step into my studio.
Referral business, however, is the true cornerstone of growth in this industry. When a satisfied client enthusiastically shares their positive experience with friends, family, or on social media, it carries far more weight than any ad or marketing campaign ever could. To encourage this, I focus on providing an outstanding service from start to finish. This means going beyond just delivering great results—I aim to create a memorable, comfortable, and empowering experience for every client.
I also believe in showing gratitude for referrals, whether that’s through a thank-you note, a small discount, or simply acknowledging and appreciating the trust my clients place in me when they recommend my services to others.
Ultimately, my strategy is simple: show up authentically, deliver exceptional results, and let word of mouth amplify that. When you combine honesty with a client-first approach, your work naturally speaks for itself, and your clientele grows as a result.
