We were lucky to catch up with Erica Morales recently and have shared our conversation below.
Erica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
In the beauty industry, it seems like most nail salons and some esthetic salons tend to rush services and do not take their time with their clients. At Double Polished Beauty Bar we take our time with our clients. We ensure we have time to connect with our clients, as well as making sure our clients are satisfied with the services. We will do what is the absolute best for your nails, toenails, skin and lashes. We also insure that we comply with all TDLR guidelines and regulations, especially when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a former Elementary educator. After having a health condition in 2020 and no longer being able to do all my teacher duties, I decided to look into a different career.
I have always been interested in the beauty industry. My love for skin care and nails brought me to the realization that I needed to get my specialty license as both Esthetician and Manicurist. I became a licensed Esthetician and Manicurist in late June 2021.
I started my new career in a small salon working as an esthetician for six months. In November 2021, I decided I wanted to utilize both my licenses and start my own business. I opened up Double Polished Beauty Bar in December 2021 inside of a barbershop.
I am so excited to announce that I am opening up a store front location! It will be opening this Summer! It is a bigger location with the ability to service more clients still in a private and personable way! I feel the setting of our salon sets us apart from other salons. We will only have 4 nail stations, 4 pedicure chairs and 2 esthetician rooms.
I work with Brandi Vasquez who holds the same specialty license for both esthetician and manicurist. Brandi is amazing at everything she does and she does some amazing nail sets!
We offer a variety of services from manicures, nail sets, pedicures, to specialty facials, waxing, lash lifts and lashes at an affordable price!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is “word of mouth”. Our clients love the privacy of our salon. We are by appointment only, to ensure the best quality of work each time! Our clients love it and refer us to their family and friends which we are extremely thankful for!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients has been through social media. Instagram and Facebook have helped bring in new clients, especially with our monthly promotions.
