Erica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, folks often look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight – but that often obscures all the nitty, gritty details of everything that went into the growth phase of your business. We’d love to hear about your scaling story and how you scaled up?

It all began with a casual conversation with a client, let’s just call him John, my client John was a passionate car mechanic that owned his own shop that was thriving. During tax season John expressed his frustration with juggling finances, business taxes, and the dream of buying a house. After successfully getting his bookkeeping and business taxes in line to buy a home I recognized it was a gap in the market. I realized there was many John’s out there- small business owners with homeownership aspirations and I wanted to help.

That’s when I decided to pivot my strategy to target this specific niche. I researched the common financial hurdles faced by small business owners on the path to homeownership. I attended local workshops on home buying for entrepreneurs and familiarized myself with the mortgage programs for self employed individuals. I eventually came to a point that I learned enough to start holding my own homebuyer workshops.

By revamping my marketing materials to highlight how my services could empower small business owners to achieve their homeownership goals. I highlighted how taxes and proper bookkeeping can help business owners successfully become a homeowner.

By offering free consultations specifically focused on the financial needs of aspiring homeowner entrepreneurs, i built relationships with local mortgage lenders and realtors, offering co-hosted workshops to educate their clients on the financial aspects of home buying for business owners. Doing these workshops and creating these connections created a waved of new clients, solidifying my reputation as the go-to tax and bookkeeping professional for aspiring homeowner entrepreneurs in my area.

By understanding the specific needs of my target audience and providing valuable resources, I transformed several business owners including myself into a homeowners, my dedication to their success (including my own) fueled my growth and established me as a trusted advisor in this particular niche.

Hello I am Erica Lynn, it all in college when being an Accountant major, I interned at a tax office and from there I never looked back. There after I worked for HR Block and the IRS for 5 years then decided to venture off and start my own Tax Business. Now I have officially been in business for 9 year. The services I provide are Taxes, Bookkeeping, Notary service. My biggest achievement over there years is teaching over 20 individuals how to start and run their own tax business. I love to help others reach their goals and that’s what I have been able to do since I’ve started my own tax business,

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

I keep in touch with my clientele regularly through email, by sending out informative and engaging email newsletters with industry insights, company updates, and exclusive promotions. On social media I actively engage with clients on social media by posting informative content, responding to comments and messages and running contest and giveaways.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.

My assistant name Bianca, Bianca is amazing. We recently celebrated her 3rd year with the company. We met from a phone call from her mother. Her mother called my company asking financial questions, she seen my sign on the building. From there we had an in depth conversation and somehow we got on the topic of her daughter and how great she is and how she helped her with her business and would be willing to be my assistant if needed. From there we did an interview and I hired her on the spot and she’s been working with me ever since.
