We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erica Annet. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erica below.
Erica, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
When Erica and her family first discovered the Temecula Hilltop property for sale in early 2018, they instantly knew it was the perfect spot for a cozy retreat in Temecula Wine Country. With breathtaking views of the vineyards and valley, and recognizing the need for more accommodations in the area, they decided to completely renovate the interior and revamp the landscaping. They even added a private pickleball court and a putting green! Every detail of the home was tailored to provide couples and families with a secluded, comfortable getaway in Wine Country. Since opening in Fall 2018, Temecula Hilltop has become a beloved destination for many, with some guests returning for their fourth and fifth stays! Erica’s exceptional hospitality has earned her the Superhost title multiple times on Airbnb and other platforms.
In addition, a few years ago, the Annet Family became co-owners of the nearby Altisima Winery, located just below Temecula Hilltop. Now, guests can easily enjoy exquisite food, wine, and entertainment during their stay at this charming retreat.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Erica Annet, and I am the property manager for Temecula Hilltop, a vacation rental in Temecula Wine Country.
Being a vacation rental host is truly exciting for me. I love the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, each bringing their own unique cultures and celebrations to Temecula Hilltop. It’s so rewarding to see guests excited to gather with loved ones and explore a new area. One of the most fulfilling parts of hosting is having repeat guests—it really shows me that we’re doing something right.
From the moment someone inquires about a stay, I’m there to answer their questions, help with the booking process, and keep in touch as their visit gets closer. We personally welcome guests during check-in, making sure they feel at home and are familiar with all the amenities. After their stay, I always follow up to thank them, ask for feedback, and take any suggestions to heart, continuously improving the experience. My goal is to make sure every guest has the best time possible and leaves wanting to tell their friends and family, and hopefully come back again.
In addition to managing Temecula Hilltop, I also work for a local custom packaging business, combining my passion for hospitality with my love for creative solutions.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
We’ve certainly faced some challenges with the new laws and regulations around vacation rentals in the Temecula area. The rules are constantly evolving as more rentals pop up, and there’s a delicate balance between preserving the local neighborhood feel and welcoming tourists to experience Temecula Wine Country. To stay on top of the changes, we maintain close communication with local officials and regularly attend city council meetings, making adjustments as necessary.
We also prioritize building strong relationships with our neighbors and are proud to say we’ve never received a complaint. Being situated on 9 acres of vineyards, Temecula Hilltop offers an exclusive, resort-like experience that sets it apart. Over the past six years, we’ve learned a lot and continue to adapt as new challenges arise.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Over the past six years, my team and I at Temecula Hilltop have navigated the challenges of evolving vacation rental laws while also growing our social media presence. We’ve taken the unique charm of our property—situated on 9 acres of vineyards with a resort-like feel—and shared that experience with a wider audience. Temecula Wine Country has a lack of hotels, so we used social media to reach visitors and tourists who might be looking for a place to stay. By showcasing our stunning views, luxurious amenities, and peaceful atmosphere, we’ve attracted guests looking for a relaxing retreat in Wine Country.
One of the key drivers of our social media growth has been leveraging Altisima Winery (just 3 years old now), which is conveniently located just below Temecula Hilltop. Guests can enjoy fantastic food, wine, and entertainment, all within walking distance of their stay. We’ve incorporated this into our marketing strategy, highlighting the seamless experience of staying at Temecula Hilltop while enjoying everything Altisima Winery has to offer.
Through engaging content like behind-the-scenes updates, guest reviews, and special promotions, we’ve built a loyal following. Collaborating with Altisima Winery has allowed us to offer even more to our guests, attracting those who want the full Wine Country experience. By staying active on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, I’ve been able to position Temecula Hilltop as a top destination for a luxurious escape in Temecula Wine Country.
