Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eric Sacks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Eric, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
Before I became an event space, I was just building a unique whimsical art gallery and had multi-media art events. At one of these events a gentleman asked me if I would rent the space out to him so he could have his girlfriend’s 30th birthday party there, and so I did and quickly realized this was a new great way to utilize this space.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m an odd, eccentric human being. A semi-autistic sub-genius with language tourettes (I often say things I just heard or respond to someone in other languages).
How I got into this biz is answered on the previous question.
I provide an event space with an otherworldly unique whimsical fantastical atmosphere.
What sets us apart from others is our Interior Design of the Imagination.
Most proud of the good feeling it gives guests when they walk in the building. Their awe is inspiring to me.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I was living in Seattle working as a DJ and doing visuals for DJs and being a bar/restaurant manager. I decided to come back home to Dallas, move back in with my mom to save money and work as much and as hard as I can and save as much money up as possible, at least $10,000 in six months and find a space to do my dream job. So I got a job as a server at a steakhouse called Del Frisco’s. I’ve since become a vegan.
