We recently connected with Eric Kleiner and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Eric thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents always made sure to have me involved in many events as a child. Some of the events were sport some were art. As time passes our bodies don’t allow us to preform at the level they once did but with art you can keep making excellent stuff your whole life. My love for art instilled in me by my parents is why I do what I do today.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my way into music in 4th grade when I joined orchestra. In 5th grade I joined a band with a few of my classmates and I was sold on Rock & Roll and art. Throughout high school and college I played in many bands and toured around. Which til this day I still do. These days my bands have label support and are still touring and recording music. Also in college I started a DYI house venue. People loved it so much that I partnered with my friend Derek Richards and now we run a large venue in Manhattan called The Press which is operating and doing very well.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is seeing how when you really put time and hard work into something it will be good. It’s a matter of work with a major pay off.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creativity journey is driven by the want to to continuously produce better art and make it different everything. Keep expanding while maintaining artistic integrity.
