We were lucky to catch up with Eric Filson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Eric , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
A lot of trial & error. Plus the willingness to fail.
Just keep taking more photos and exposing myself to different scenarios where I’d have to quickly adjust.
Learning how light works.
Since I shoot concerts primarily, I’m never guaranteed a show I’d like to shoot and can go months without one.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Back in 2020 I wasn’t satisfied with who I was personally. I felt like I could be more and finding a hobby was the first step. Then it just snowballed from there.
I’m proud of my resilience. People can only see the end result, but a lot of setbacks and disappointments have always been apart of my journey and always will be.
I’m just hoping I can trigger some type of strong emotions and feelings through my photos. Connecting through art is something I’ve always been very passionate about.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Creative expression. I’m a huge lover of music and being able to capture live moments of some of my favorite artists feels like the perfect foundation to showcase my artistic values.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I want to continue to create for as long as I can. Not just art, but meaningful moments as well.
