We recently connected with Eric Carlino and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Eric thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to be a part of something that has staying power. Something that my son can look back on when he’s a father and know that his father played a role in something iconic that leaves a memorable mark on the industry.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey started at the onset of the pandemic. Early that year I began by taking an intro to voice over class. I knew my theatrical background would serve me well as I started my coaching and in time preparing to produce my very first demos. During this time I recorded my very first paying gig in the form of an audiobook series. Late that summer I signed on with my first agency. I felt as though I was on my way. But in reality I was still very green. I had no idea how much work and patience it would take to really get anywhere.
But I persevered. I went after additional coaching, worked with marketing professionals, and produced additional demos.
I feel that my diverse range, adaptability, and ability to take direction have helped me to become the voice actor I am now. I’m proud of the fact that I hung on and didn’t walk away and quit, every time I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere.
Most importantly though I want to be known as a good person, someone who works hard and that can be depended upon in any of the projects I work on.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what’s helped me most is I try to be very real. I don’t shy away from saying what I really feel. I prefer to be honest and sincere. I’m not going to sugarcoat anything.
At the same time, because I try to present myself as very real, I also am very open about showing my vulnerabilities. I’ve shared personal experiences and events in my life that have made me who I am. And as a result I think it’s helped me to connect with others.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I’ve really built my brand by using social media platforms to build more of a public presence. I’ve really established a following, and found new friends, colleagues, and clients as a result
