We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eric Campbell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eric below.
Eric, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Early in your career, how did you think through the decision of whether to start your own firm or join an established firm?
I joined Keller Williams Winter Park. I had a family friend already a part of this firm and my only regret is I did not get my license and join sooner! I got my license in July and had a hectic schedule juggling my full time job and my real estate career that I was just starting. For months juggling both I realize every day more and more as time went on that my true passion and goal was to do real estate full time and I wouldn’t stop until I achieved it. Not until March 2023 did I decide to take a leap of faith and started handling my real estate career full time. Since then I have grown and expanded my business faster and farther than I could ever expect in such a short time! I am going to be forever grateful to my team lead Christy and my mentor Jeanine that have been by my side every step of the way in helping me achieve my goals. My family especially my wife has been there always to help bring my dreams to a reality and I will be forever grateful for the vast support that I have!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into real estate after having 5 years of banking experience and taking what I have learned from the banking industry and customer service and applying that to real estate. My previous job careers only sharpen my skills to being such an effective entrepreneur and being such a great real estate agent. My goal with my business is to help everyone I can either sell, buy or invest in real estate and teach them how real estate can be the most important asset to achieve financial freedom! My motto is that I am “making dreams come true one home at a time”. Nothing excites me more than seeing my clients smiling face when they unlock their doors with their new set of keys and saying “they are home” or being able to grow their portfolio and the possibility of a income just off a sale of one of their properties. What I do and look forward to is educate my community and anyone I can about the importance of real estate and home ownership! I am very proud to see clients I have helped rent for almost their whole life and thinking they can never own a home to finally living out their dreams and having a property that is theirs, it is truly exciting! My hope is I can educate everyone I can and hopefully one day extend it to the rest of Florida apart from the central Florida area to eventually the country and why stop there until you reach the world?!

Have you ever had to pivot?
In life we eventually always come to a few crossroads and paths changes that we must pivot and learn from and take that risk with change. That moment came in end of February where I had to choose, whether I will stay a full time banker or pursuit my dreams of finally becoming a full time business owner and in charge of my own real estate career. After reading the likes of Ryan Serhant, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Wolf of Wall Street and many other renown books from some of the greatest business minds in the world I realized it was time to change my thinking and take the risk to becoming a full time entrepreneur that fully focuses on his business. I took the chance and risk and my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I have found and used in my business thus far is networking, making connections and performing open houses almost on a weekly basis. Even when I worked Monday through Friday I did open houses on Saturday and Sunday for almost 5 months straight (my family and friends thought was a bit crazy) even though it was tiring and sometimes stressful I knew this is what I wanted to do. It pained me Monday through Friday to wake up and go work a job I knew I was tired and disliking but staying at because I knew bills had to be paid to my weekend when I didn’t care how long I was working towards my real estate goal. The key is persistence and staying constant and always following up with your clients and potential leads while being genuine, people can smell a fake a mile away!
