We recently connected with Eric Burns and have shared our conversation below.

Eric , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Eric Burns born and raised in Tyler, Texas. I served and protected my country in the U.S.Navy, fought in the Gulf War received numerous medals! Been around the world several times, and years later was effected by the pandemic. Where I had to advocate for my life to live, And I survived to tell my story and my harrowing ordeal and the after effects of the illness !!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

At 17 I received a scholarship in track to attend Sam Houston University but chose to go to the Navy!! Was in the Gulf War, traveling all over the world, invented a few things!! Meet some famous people in my travels, Got out moved to Canada, Vancouver Island for 4 years! Moved back to the states and received my NCCCO certified international Crane Operator license where I have traveled all over the country operating Crane from Very big to little!! The book tells the whole story!!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

We I got sick , I was making over $90,000 to $110,000 a year operating cranes all over the United States!! Getting sick I wasn’t able to do that anymore, now I’m setting at the house not working. No money and trying to get well from my illness!! I had to pivot and do something different, so I started writing notes and notes turned into pages and the pages turned into this book !! The Battle endurance and Overcoming Life’s Obstacles!!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I was in the hospital bed sick with blood clots in my lungs, they tried to send me home with no oxygen, I to fight for that and plus I told them there was something wrong with my lungs before I was sent home !! But I was sent home anyway to die , but the good Lord said different!!
