We were lucky to catch up with Eric Brundidge recently and have shared our conversation below.
Eric, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I started Aspira Pura to give back instead of just taking like some big Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies do. After working at a few fortune 500 companies, I saw a common occurrence when helping the neighborhood and local communities. When the neighborhood or community would ask for certain beverages, we would give them the product for any event, and then that is it. In the same community or neighborhood that regularly purchased our drink, we didn’t do anything else. I made it my mission to give a percentage of our sales to underrepresented areas & communities to help create recycling organizations and to build playgrounds and sidewalks.
I knew from starting previous businesses Aspira Pura is my calling. It was always there and I had to remind myself I have 10yrs plus in CPG experience, and I’m constantly learning. Creating and marketing my water came easy, and I have experience in making products successful. How do I know this would work with research and past experiences.
There are a lot of waters on the market that leave you with a bad aftertaste in your mouth. Aspira Pura has a proprietary UV & Ozone treatment to give you the smoothest and purest taste in every bottle.
Eric, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I began my career working in different industries like the NBA, Project management & logistics until I found my calling, which I did not know would be the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. I got my first taste of the CPG industry working for two different fortune 500 beverage companies and a few other healthier, smaller consumer packaged goods brands.
I then decided to take these years of experience working in the CPG space and create my own water brand, Aspira Pura. After seeing how some employers were operating, I wanted to ensure my brand was different. My brand would have a daily mission that I believe in: giving back and helping others. Even while working for the other brands, I have always been a big recycler, and I wanted to make sure my premium water brand gave back a percentage of our sales to recycling organizations in underrepresented communities to help create jobs and build a better community. When you drink a bottle of Aspira Pura water, you are helping your community and countless others.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When it came to putting together my first capital to purchase my first inventory of product. I bootstrapped everything, I didn`t have all these investments so I had to make sure everything that was purchased or used was beneficial to the business growing and I could get an ROI out of it. As a small business owner, you always have to know your ROI on everything you spend on marketing, ads, events, and everything else.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I keep in touch by creating a community where supporters can ask questions and contact us. It is essential always to let my supporters know that without them, there would not be Aspira Pura water. They have greatly appreciated my premium water brand by spreading the word and telling their friends, neighborhood, and everyone. Everything we do circles around getting better each day, whether hearing criticism about changing something or just an idea. Our main goal is to create a community of loyal supporters who want to drink Aspira Pura day & night.
