Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eric Battle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Eric, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaningful project I’ve participated in is undoubtedly the “Houston Runway” fashion show. I owe my involvement to my close friend Sergio, one of the show’s directors, who recognized my desire to break into the modeling world. He encouraged me to join, assuring me it would be a fantastic opportunity to connect with other models and establish my presence in the industry.

As the event approached, I was filled with a mix of excitement and nerves—after all, I had never walked in a fashion show before and had little experience with fashion itself. Initially, I felt out of place, struggling to find my footing amidst the glamour. However, the experience quickly transformed as I connected with other participants. I met so many wonderful individuals who became good friends, and their support helped ease my anxiety.

While I may not have executed my walk perfectly, the joy of being on stage alongside my peers overshadowed any mistakes I thought I made. We were all cheering each other on, reveling in the atmosphere, and celebrating our shared camaraderie. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

Thanks to the Houston Runway, I now have a network of incredible people to turn to as I contemplate further exploring the modeling industry. I am thrilled to share that I’ve even been invited to participate in next year’s fashion show featuring street fashion. Without a doubt, I’ll be there, ready to embrace this new chapter in my journey.

Eric, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name true name is Eric, stagename is Takko (thats a fun story for another day), and I consider myself an emerging model who balances my pursuits as a part-time student and a full-time employee. Currently, I serve as a brand ambassador for Dechire Lifestyle clothing brand and had the privilege of participating in my first fashion show in Houston, Texas.

In addition to my modeling endeavors, I am certified as an EKG technician and am pursuing studies to become a radiology technician. I am dedicated to working hard in everything I do, and I’m actively striving to create a life where I feel both financially secure and physically comfortable.

Have you ever had to pivot?

In my early 20s, I worked as a truck driver for two and a half years, during which I traveled to almost all 50 states. This experience taught me a great deal about myself while allowing me to see places I never imagined I would visit at such a young age. However, I eventually realized that, despite my travels, I wasn’t earning as much money as I had hoped as a company driver.

Driven by a desire for a more fulfilling career and influenced by my family background in the medical field, I decided to transition into healthcare. I realized that the financial rewards of a medical career could make the long hours of classes, challenging coursework, and sometimes tedious lectures worthwhile. Although I still have a long journey ahead before I fully enter this new field, I am committed to overcoming any obstacles along the way. My resilience will guide me as I work toward achieving my goals.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)

Honestly, I don’t have a strong opinion on NFTs, largely due to my limited knowledge about them. I understand that they are a form of cryptocurrency, but I didn’t pay much attention when they first gained popularity or as they gradually faded from the spotlight. I remember my initial reaction during their rise on Twitter was skepticism; I thought they wouldn’t last long. To me, the concept seemed somewhat trivial when it first debuted, which is perhaps why I never delved deeper into understanding them.
