We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Era Bayrak a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Era, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Modeling should not be thought of as a full-time job. I am currently a freelance model because I can find my own job and I do not want to give credit to the agency. I stopped working for the last three months due to my tendon problem. But now I’m better and I’m back again with very nice projects and shots.
Era, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a trans model, lingerie modeling is really difficult. Although this advantage is sometimes an advantage in castings, it usually requires disadvantage and extra struggle. But I will be bolder and continue shooting nudes. Because nude shots are actually art. I love creativity.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
I have a book project that I have been working on for a long time, after I find the right editor, I would like to find it with readers.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Usually my followers are men and my shots get their attention. And those who follows me 24/7 on Instagram.
