We recently connected with Epiphany Ajabé and have shared our conversation below.
Epiphany , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is the project inner and outer beauty to all of my clients at any and every stage of life through exceptional service and quality product.
I chose this because the beauty industry is so vast. Literally any and everyone can and should be serviced and made to feel beautiful in their own way. I strive to have a business that can cater to just that. No matter the age, gender, lifestyle, etc.

Epiphany , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Epiphany. I am a stylist that specializes in extension services and the owner of 10:09 x Epiphany Ajabé, a luxury extension and lace unit brand. I am located tin Raleigh, NC. I started doing hair back in college and went on to graduate from Paul Mitchell The School in 2016. Hair and beauty have always been a passion of mine, so i knew that id find a career in the industry one way or another.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Advice that id give to my growing clientele would be to listen to your stylist! We’ve spent a lot of time learning and perfecting our craft and we only want the best for you and your hair. Between product knowledge and styling tips, we want to ensure that you’re properly caring for your hair in between salon visits.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Whew. This is a good one. Cosmetology was definitely a struggle for me. I was not prepared for that journey. I thought id be doing press and curls and color all day but i was completely wrong. There was so much more to it and i had a lot roadblocks along the way. I was expelled twice but i was not going to let that stop me from my goal. I knew that i was meant to be a stylist and i was going to to whatever it took, no matter how long it took to get there. I’m super proud of myself for sticking it out!
