We were lucky to catch up with Enrique Acosta Gonzalez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Enrique, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
The Five Travesties Corporate America gets wrong in Leadership.
1. Lack of Vision: A leader without a clear vision is like a ship without a compass. Without a defined direction, teams flounder, and opportunities are missed. This lack of vision leads to confusion, inefficiency, and a lack of purpose among team members.
2. Poor Communication: Effective communication is the backbone of leadership. When leaders fail to communicate expectations, goals, and feedback clearly, it breeds misunderstanding and frustration. Poor communication can create an environment where team members feel disconnected and undervalued.
3. Inconsistent Decision-Making: Inconsistency in decisions can erode trust and morale. Leaders who frequently change their minds or make arbitrary decisions leave their teams feeling unstable and insecure. This inconsistency undermines confidence in leadership and hinders progress.
4. Failure to Empower Others: Great leaders empower their teams, giving them the autonomy and resources needed to succeed. Poor leaders, on the other hand, micromanage or withhold opportunities for growth. This stifles creativity and innovation, leaving team members feeling constrained and demotivated.
5. Avoidance of Accountability: Leaders who shirk responsibility for their actions set a dangerous precedent. Avoiding accountability creates a culture of blame and discourages ownership. True leadership involves owning mistakes, learning from them, and setting an example of integrity and resilience.
By addressing these issues, leaders can transform their approach and create environments that foster trust, collaboration, and success.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building a strong reputation in my market involved a combination of delivering consistent quality, maintaining integrity, and fostering strong relationships. For me, it was crucial to focus on understanding the needs and expectations of my clients or audience and exceeding them whenever possible. By actively listening to feedback and continuously improving, I was able to adapt to changing demands and demonstrate reliability. Networking and collaboration with other professionals in the industry also played a key role, as it helped me gain valuable insights and expand my reach. Finally, maintaining transparency and honesty in all interactions helped build trust and credibility, which are essential components of a solid reputation.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media is often a journey of persistence, creativity, and authenticity. It begins with understanding your niche and creating content that genuinely resonates with your target audience. For me, it involved consistently posting engaging and high-quality content while actively interacting with followers to build a community. Collaborations with others in the same field helped broaden my reach and expose my content to new audiences via Livestreams, Podcasts and Collaborative Book Projects. For those just starting, my advice is to stay authentic to your brand and voice, engage with your audience regularly, and be patient. Experiment with different types of content to see what resonates best, and don’t be afraid to learn and adapt along the way. Consistency and genuine interaction are key to cultivating a loyal following.
