We recently connected with Eniyah C. and have shared our conversation below.
Eniyah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Typically I don’t ask for support. I feel as though support should come naturally. Some may support and some may not. I feel as asking for support isn’t good because, if someone isn’t already supporting then, maybe they don’t find interest in my business.
Eniyah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
A little about myself and my brand, I am currently a sophomore at Kennesaw State. I originally was dual enrolled at a technical college going to become a licensed cosmetologist, in which I will continue to pursue those dreams in the near by future. I started my brand ConceitedTresses, in 2019, and ever since then I’ve been building and getting my brand to the level I want it to be. My brand consist of hair bundles, wigs, hair care products such as hair growth oils and edge control. My edge control is one of my TOP SELLERS, and my personal favorite. I believe my brand is different from others because, I believe I’ve started ConceitedTresses at a young age and have gained so much knowledge and now I am able to provide great customer service along with being able to wholesale my products to help others start their own line. Over the years, I’ve seen lots of repetitive customers and great testimonials from people all over, which makes me very proud of my brands reputation.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Well, when I first started my business, I do not have products on hand. Whenever I received an order I would take product pictures and store them to use them for pictures to get more customers. I eventually was able to grab others attention in order to help my business grow. It didn’t happen over night but eventually I gotten to the point where I am now able to keep high demand items on hand and ready to ship.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think that my honesty and act of integrity has helped build my reputation. Whenever an unforeseen obstacle happens with anything within my business I maker sure that I notify my customers and be completely honest with them I feel that it is best to be honest and function with integrity in order to maintain customers. I feel like this also boosts customers feelings on my brands customer service skills.
