Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eni Stillman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Eni, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I love all things about natural hair. Growing up I would watch countless youtube videos to help me learn how to do my curly hair. I went through a phase when I was 18 years old where I had to cut all my hair off due to damage and there was a point that I felt like I wasn’t pretty or enough because my hair was so short. I’m so glad that I cut my hair because I learned how to love myself and get out of this stigma that only long hair is pretty. That is the message that I want to get across to my audience. You are beautiful inside and out no matter what and you should wear your crown with complete confidence!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Eni and I am a Natural Hair Influencer. As a Polynesian content creator, my goal is to educate and encourage self love and empowerment. I have always had a love for hair since my trial and error days in high school. It’s taken me a long time to love my hair,I know how hard it can be to try and fit to modern beauty standards. The message behind my brand is to create empowerment regardless of your hair type. We all deserve to feel beautiful and as a creator my mission is to inspire you to be passionate about your hair and embrace the beauty within. I have combined my love for hair and my Polynesian culture rooted deep within me to present ThePolyFro.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Consistency is key. When I create videos I try not to focus on how many likes the content will get but to focus on the message I’m trying to achieve. When you stay consistent with posting your target audience will naturally be drawn to you. It’s also important to be yourself ! Don’t try to be someone else or fake who you are because you think it will attract more followers. People love REAL. So the best thing you can do is stay disciplined and create real content that makes you proud.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One word. Doubt. I have been a content creator since I was 18 years old. Over the years there has been plenty of moments that I stopped creating because I had this mentality of ” this person does it so much better than me ” or ” there’s already so many other influencers/creators , there’s nothing special about me”. That sort of negative thinking really got in the way of my growth. Now at 26 years old my mentality has changed. I truly believe now that there is enough room out there for my content and it will reach the target audience that it is supposed to . I have learned to stop comparing my success to others because what I have to offer is unique to my niche.
