We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Endre Barath. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Endre below.
Alright, Endre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
Having been a Captain in the US Army, I learned the importance of good leadership, trust, ethics and flexibility.
All of these key traits can undoubtedly be applied to my career as a Greater Los Angeles Realtor. Clients must feel confident in trusting the advice they are given by their Realtor just as in the military, soldiers depend upon the direction and advice they receive. In both positions, one must also be ethical and a clear communicator. You need to present the facts to substantiate the advice. Flexibility is another key factor as things can change on a moment’s notice in Real Estate as well as in military maneuvers. As any successful and honest Realtor will admit, there will always be unexpected obstacles and challenges in most every transaction.
Understandably, a real estate transaction is very stressful for most because it is one of the largest financial investments a person will make. As a Realtor, you must stay calm and convey that calmness to the client. In other words, manage and exceed their expectations.

Endre, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been a Realtor for close to 30 years, having originally made the career switch from contract security management to Beacon Hill real estate in Boston. For most of my years as a Realtor in Southern California, I’ve been affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (formerly Prudential) in Beverly Hills where I have been consistently recognized as a top agent and earned the nickname “The Landman”. In this role, I am often asked to consult and partner with other Agents in the office who need assistance with all things related to the complexities of land sales and purchases.
I am Certified Relocation Specialist, fluent in German and Hungarian, and I’ve represented buyers and sellers from all over the globe such as Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, China, Finland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada to name a few.
I work extensively with buyers, sellers, and developers with a primary focus in the areas of Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles, including Century City, Westwood, Brentwood, Hollywood Hills, Santa Monica, Venice, Playa Vista and Marina del Rey. I’ve also represented buyers and sellers in Irvine, located in Orange County.
Given my diverse background and niche markets, I’ve had the pleasure of representing celebrity clients, international clients, and neighborhood residents.
My strengths lie in being a strong negotiator with a straight-forward, candid approach and exceptional strategies for buying and selling. I pride myself in customer loyalty and satisfaction, being a friend to animals and an advocate and supporter of reputable animal rescue organizations.
Prior to joining Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, I was affiliated with Fred Sands on the Sunset Strip and Coldwell Banker Beverly Hills.
On a personal level, I enjoy cooking, reading, the Red Sox, and spending time with our three rescue cats and our rescue dog.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Since I’ve started in real estate, I have been sending a monthly email newsletter to clients and potential clients. Over the years it has not been unusual for someone to reach out to me with private questions simply by replying to my newsletter. Most people look forward to it, so I’ve been told. On the other hand, I do remove those that request to be removed.
Since the onset of the Internet, I have been blogging on a platform called “Active Rain”, a social media platform primarily for people who are associated with the Real Estate profession. Some of these blogs I syndicate on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Finally, every holiday season I send cards through the U.S. Mail and include a business card. Call me old school, but this too helps me and my clients to stay in touch.
The bottom line is I do not hide, I am an open book. Feel free to Google my name and see what comes up. You will see the real me.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I am a firm believer that people want their questions or inquiries addressed quickly. That said, I am known to work seven days a week all year round. When clients or potential clients have questions, they can be comfortable knowing that I will respond to them within a relatively short time. I treat other Realtors in the same way; if an agent reaches out to me regarding one of my listings, I respond back to them in the same timely manner.
Maintaining the same contact information is also critical in my opinion. During my 25 years as a CA Realtor, I have never changed my cell phone number. I was forced to change my email address once, due to issues with the Multiple Listing Service, so for the past 24, years my email address has remained the same. Hence, I have heard from clients that I’ve not heard from in many years.
Clients and potential clients always get straight forward candid answers and advice from me that they know they can trust.
All of this makes for satisfied and repeat clients. Given all my years in the business proves that these strategies and work ethic have worked for me.
