Endonezia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The year was 2020 and the world was on a shut down thanks to COVID-19. My Amazon Prime account was working overtime and so was my local mail lady. I spent my days ordering anything and everything like workout equipment, stationary, cups, self-help books, etc. I was like many people during this time, bored and looking for something to pass the time. After a few months I was really yearning for a hobby and was experiencing burn out from all of the tik tok challenges and had watched everything on the streaming platforms. Around May 2020 I started to see a few of my Instagram followers getting into juicing really heavily and I wanted in.
I would watch these people juice fruits and vegetables in their kitchen and I thought it would be fun to try. About two days later (thanks Amazon Prime) I was able to plug my juicer up and start the juicing process. I was having a blast coming up with recipes and posting them to my story, but little did I know just how fast they would blow up. At the time I was staying in Lafayette, Louisiana and over twenty people would message me everyday and ask if I was selling juice, where they could buy it from, and questions about the benefits. After about three weeks I understood that there was definitely a market for cold-pressed juice and decided to make a business. I was very nervous but I decided to just go for it. This is when Thegirlwiththejuice was born. I created fun menus with catchy names, attended a few popup shops, and interacted with my community. I loved it so much and even started to incorporate bartending into the mix.
I decided to take it to another level in March of 2022 when I moved to Houston, Texas with my now fiance. I decided to dive into content creation and focus on beverages at restaurants, events, etc. This was a big step for me because I was putting myself out into the world to show my creative side and my likes. So far I am loving this new journey because I have worked with so many brands, restaurants, and met so many people. I cannot wait to see my progress by the time I make a year.
Endonezia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Endonezia and I am the owner of Thegirlwiththejuice. I currently create content regarding beverages and fashion via Instagram and Tik Tok. I also provide services for any bartending needs for company events, parties, etc.
I originially started as a juicing business where I made and sold cold-pressed juices and wellness shots. I sold juice all throughout the pandemic, and about a year afterwards. Shortly after I started to provide bartending services at events in my community and even at company events in the Houston area once I moved. I still provide bartending services for companies as I cater school events making and serving mocktails, birthday parties, and other events. For my clients I am able to create a menu for them and also serve them to their guests. This allows me to socialize and curate the experience of who is in front of me. What sets me apart from normal bartenders is the fact that I have creative control over my recipes, the types of names I create, how I can incorporate the overall theme into the marketing of the event, and the taste of my products.
Currently, I work with brands (clothing, food, and drinks) to provide content based on my experience at their establishments, with certain menu items, or certain clothing. I believe what sets me apart from others is how well I know myself and how authentic I am when reviewing an item or business. I am proud of my honesty, because regardless of who the brand I am working for is, I like my audience to be given the truth so that they are not being taken advantage of. I pride myself on growing my community and building up trust on both ends.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best thing society can do to better support artists and creatives is to attend events they are having or attending, buy their products, and engage with their content. This helps the creatives and artists feel like they have a community and helps them continue to produce products and content.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is to be able to interact with the people you influence. I love to see people comment and ask questions about the products I post and places I go to. I especially love when someone tries something I have recomended and is able to give their feedback. This is how you build community and grow a following where people trust your judgement.
