EmmaSara, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Today, let me take you on a journey – a heartwarming story that unfolded right in front of a grocery store. It’s a story that reaffirms our belief in the goodness that resides in unexpected places.
The day kicked off with a seemingly mundane task – a trip to the city to get groceries and take care of business, about a 3-hour drive. Little did we know that this routine trip would turn into anything but ordinary. An encounter with a less-than-friendly business counter person left us drained by the drama. Hungry and exhausted, finished our grocery shopping and we picked up some items for our lunch – a pre-made chicken and tortillas combo that soon became our impromptu chicken tacos.
As we sat down on the bench in front of the grocery to eat our makeshift dinner, the fatigue from the long drive lingered in all of us, and the kids were still hungry. With a daunting 3-hour drive back home on the horizon,v our day took an unexpected turn.
We could literally smell the restaurant food wafting in the air from a Chipolte across the street. My kids were HUNGRY still, but we were out of cash and that year was…. If we don’t have cash, we will not charge it. So we told the kids they would have to wait until we got home and I remember quietly telling them soon enough we would be able to eat at restaurants again. You see 2018 was a hard year for us. Because of a string of occurrences our family lived off of 26K for a family of 10! That day on the bench was a hard realization of how broke we were.
Just as we were getting up to leave some store employees swooped in, carrying bags of groceries to bless our family. The surprise left us in awe, our expressions mirroring the collective “whaaaat?.” These unsung heroes, who had been seated nearby, overheard our kid’s hunger and decided to perform a random act of kindness that touched us to the core.
Overwhelmed with humility and gratitude, we received not only essential groceries but also a thoughtful addition – cupcakes. Even though our family wasn’t usually fans of store-bought cupcakes, we received everything with gratitude and the kids ate it all!
As the generous employees walked away, our hearts filled with gratitude, a spontaneous “God bless you!” was all we could say. The sentiment hung in the air, a testimony to the enduring power of unexpected kindness.
This story is a reminder that, even in the midst of challenging times, there are still kind-hearted individuals who selflessly choose to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Our experience is the belief that when you feel down to nothing, God is up to something.
Just last month our family went to eat an upscale restaurant and as I sat there with my eight-year-old ordering a steak, I thought about that day not too long ago, when I said… soon, soon we will be able to eat out again.
I thought about those kind people and I was grateful for the moment that allowed us to experience that kind of care from others.
Remember it only takes one random act of kindness to leave a lasting impact. Be and do kind acts.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a mom of eight who knows struggle and hardship, I’m passionate about helping other families to live the life they want to be remembered for. Sot, his led me to start a business and ministry that would provide powerful tools for life. At Families of Change LLC and the Mother of Change Foundation, our focus is to empower families and equip struggling mothers with life-changing resources and media content.
What sets us apart from others is our focus on bridging the gap between personal development and motherhood, which is often overlooked in low socioeconomic backgrounds. We celebrate mothers who have overcome obstacles in their own lives by amplifying their voices to inspire other moms to level up at home. Our goal is to help one million struggling mothers gain access to the resources they need to break generational bad habits and poor attitudes that can create brokenness.
We offer courses, books, lifestyle resources, and coaching to empower mothers to create positive change in their families. We are most proud of the impact we have made in the lives of struggling mothers, particularly those who are suffering from anxiety disorders. Through our collaboration with women’s shelters, we aim to provide access to life-changing materials to empower these mothers and their families.
We want our readers to know that we are committed to changing the world, one family at a time. Our show provides hope, inspiration, and practical tools for women seeking to overcome challenges and create a better future for their families. We believe that moms need our support now more than ever, and we are dedicated to empowering and equipping them with the resources they need to succeed.

How did you build your audience on social media?
When it comes to social media… Go where your audience is. I think one of the greatest mistakes I see is when someone is spending too much time posting on platforms their audience is not hanging around on. And of course, it depends on who you want to market to. Young people are not hanging on Facebook, but that’s okay because I am marketing to adults and I have my strongest following there. So I give it a lot of love and my time. I make every stop intentional. You have to decide what you want your audience to know about you and you have to think about how your posts will make them feel. Every post has to be intentional or you can be doing more than wasting your time. You could be confusing people or sending them away needlessly. So stay tight on your focus. Stay purposeful when it comes to social media.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I believe that forming and fostering relationships is the key to successful connections. Some people get so busy building that they neglect relationships. Some people stop caring about the people they are serving because they are so focused on building revenue. If you see people as PEOPLE and not dollar signs, you will organically grow your brand loyalty.
