Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emmanuel Tsekpo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Emmanuel , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
Remote work has enabled us to expand our network and partner with talented Key Art artists from Ghana, Nigeria, the USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, and Sierra Leone, bringing a wide range of creative insights to our film projects. Using platforms like Discord, WhatsApp, and Slack, we streamline communication and project management, allowing us to efficiently collaborate and share designs with our international partners. This model not only enhances the quality of our work but also contributes to employment growth across these countries. By creating freelance and contract opportunities for local creatives, we support talent development, stimulate the creative industry, and help boost employment rates across the regions involved.

Emmanuel , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a time when I had to pivot from my initial career path as a teacher to pursue my passion for the creative business and advertising. After completing training college, I spent about three years teaching, driven by a great passion for educating kids. However, as time went on, my passion for creative business and solving advertising solutions for clients grew stronger, and I realized that I wanted to make a switch.
At the time, I was confused and felt like life was playing tricks on me. My family was upset that I was leaving a stable government job for something uncertain. Despite the pressure, I began talking to professionals in the creative field, joining design communities, and immersing myself in books, articles, and YouTube content about people who had made similar career transitions. This process of learning and reflection gave me the confidence to pursue my new direction.
Making this pivot taught me valuable lessons: it showed me the importance of breaking boundaries, taking risks, and following my dreams even when the path ahead seemed unclear. This experience has given me the courage to withstand any storm and to keep pushing forward in business and life.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Early in my career, I believed that to succeed, I had to do everything on my own. I thought that handling every task myself would prove my competence, and I hesitated to ask for help or collaborate with others. However, as I took on larger projects that required diverse skills, I realized that working with others was not only essential for success but also for expanding my creative horizons. I learned that collaboration brought new ideas, perspectives, and expertise, enhancing the overall quality of my work.
The experience taught me that collaboration doesn’t diminish your abilities it amplifies them. Since embracing this lesson, I’ve made collaboration a cornerstone of my approach, recognizing that success is often the result of collective effort. This shift has significantly improved both my work and how I lead teams, allowing me to achieve far more than I could have alone.
