Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emma Booth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Emma thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to bring aesthetics to this planet. Art is one of the ways which allows people to feel and express emotion and I believe it’s one of the most important parts of culture and humanity.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been an actress since I was 13 years old. That’s when I did my first tv show which has led to 15 tv shows and around 15 films, 2 academy awards and many other accolades. Art, aesthetics and performance has been a huge part of me and my life.
I love to be able to evoke emotions in people and take them on a journey with my art.
During the lockdowns I was unable to act and that’s when I picked up a paintbrush.
It was my need to create which inspired me to paint.
I did it for myself actually. A way to express how I was feeling during the lockdowns. I shared my art on social media and realized that by doing this it was actually helping others also.
I had many people following my painting journey. My highs and lows and discoveries and my craft.
I never thought about selling it or that this could make me expand my career as an artist from an actress to also a painter, but here we are.
I’ve shown at galleries and have now been chosen for the Hamptons art fair which Is in July.
I believe art changes the world and it’s an essential part of happiness and evolution.
I don’t know if I could live in a world without art and that’s why being an artist is so essential for me.
I love that I can contribute to that.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
For sure having Covid happen and have our industry shut down. This was so hard on the entire world and for my industry- the entertainment industry. Many people really struggled during this time. It hurt many people to financially.
As it was picking up then we had writers and actors strikes which shut the industry down again.
It was at this time that my husband and I decided to start other businesses.
It really pushed us to expand out to be able to withstand this times.
And now we realize the importance of multiple revenue streams.
In the end it ended up helping us but it was incredibly difficult at the time to be eating through savings without work for such a long time.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I would say a lesson I had to unlearn would be not to surround myself with people who are bringing me down yet seemed attractive to be around. I had a tendency to just end up with people who were actually very harmful for me. Both romantically and with friendships.
It’s not until I got older I realized how much the people around me impact EVERYTHING in my life and my success.
I’m now very wise when it comes to my connections and can see who will actually be good for me and who will make my world crash.
I’m getting very good at it these days. And my gut instinct is always usually spot on.
