We were lucky to catch up with Emma Alqattan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Emma, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Any investment in my personal growth has been incredibly valuable. I’m a self-development enthusiast—you’ll usually find me in the bookstore or diving into new learning experiences. But over the past couple of years, when I felt lost and disconnected, I decided to dig deeper into personal healing and learning in a more intentional way.
I explored various modalities like somatic work, theta healing, and coaching, and these have truly transformed my perspective. The important thing is finding what resonates with you—there’s no one-size-fits-all. For me, tapping into my authentic self, letting go of limiting beliefs, and expanding my consciousness has shifted my worldview in ways I didn’t expect. It’s been a journey of growth and discovery, and I can honestly say that investing in myself during this time has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Any investment in understanding yourself is absolutely worth it.

Emma, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve always felt that I want to make a real impact in people’s lives, but for a long time, I wasn’t sure exactly how to do that. Early in my career, I worked in management consulting and strategy, where the focus was on numbers, systems, and getting things done. While I was good at it, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing for me.
Then, during a coaching session, something clicked for me. I realized the misalignment I felt in my career was because I wasn’t showing up authentically. For me, it was a life-changing and profound insight that sparked my interest in coaching and led me to explore the field of organizational psychology.
Today, I work with both individuals and businesses, creating space for insight, clarity, and real change. For individuals, I offer coaching to help them uncover what’s not working, understand why, and find alignment with what truly excites them. For businesses, I provide workshops and consulting with a focus on more than just strategy. I take a holistic approach, considering not only the activities at hand but also the people, relationships, and context that drive success.
What sets me apart is this holistic mindset—whether I’m working with individuals or organizations. It’s about looking at the whole picture, not just one piece of the puzzle, because we’re all human and everything is interconnected. I solve the problem of outdated business practices that rely on masks, politics, compartmentalization, or traditional methods that no longer serve us. My approach is about being real, honest, and having human conversations that bring out the best in people and lead to solutions that work because they are in true alignment with both the individuals and the organization. My goal is to help people and businesses connect more deeply with their values and create meaningful, sustainable change that sticks.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth has been the best source of clientele for me—it’s been a slow build, but the quality of clients that have come my way has been amazing. I’ve found that the more attention and care I give to my current clients, the more they naturally spread the word. It’s not about convincing people who haven’t tried my services yet; it’s about really focusing on the people I’m working with now and making sure they feel supported and valued. When I put that energy into serving them well, they’ve been the ones to bring in new clients, and it’s been such a rewarding way to grow.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The Living Organization by Norman Wolfe is an excellent read, and it’s been a huge influence on my own thinking. He’s been a great mentor to me, and I’m grateful to be part of the Living Organization community. The book really confirmed the way I’ve always thought about business—seeing it as a dynamic human social system rather than a cold, mechanistic structure. It put into words what I’ve believed throughout my career but couldn’t always fully articulate. If you ever get that whisper that there’s a different way to think about how we operate businesses and engage with stakeholders, I highly recommend this book. It’s a refreshing perspective that challenges the traditional input/output mindset and truly resonates with a more human-centered approach to business.
