Emily, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a customer success story with us?

The Pine Creek Gorge, aka. the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, is one of the most scenic spots in the state of Pennsylvania. Located in the Pennsylvania Wilds region, the Pine Creek Gorge extends for approximately 47-miles through the unspoiled landscape of Pennsylvania. With stunning vistas, rugged hiking trails, and impressive Pine Creek Rail Trail, the PA Grand Canyon is a must-visit for adventure lovers.

As a Philadelphia-based content creator focused on outdoor experiences and adventure travel, I was hired by the Pennsylvania Wilds (@thepawilds) to promote the PA Grand Canyon as a getaway destination. For our partnership, I visited the PA Grand Canyon in October 2022 and explored the hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and state parks in the area. On Instagram, I shared about my experiences with my audience, including a suggested weekend itinerary, things to do, hiking trail guides, and information on the state parks. In particular, I created and shared a “PA Grand Canyon Weekend Itinerary” reel, which has reached over 46,500 viewers. Following my visit, I published “The Ultimate Guide to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon” on my blog as a way to share about the area and encourage others to visit!

Emily, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a content creator, blogger, and travel planner based out of the Philadelphia region. I am passionate about spending time outdoors, hiking, and traveling. In sharing my experiences on social media, my mission is to inspire others to go explore and find adventure!

I have experience working with numerous brands, tourism bureaus, and accommodation-based businesses. I offer a variety of content creation services, including sponsored content as well as user-generated content for social media. I have worked with notable businesses, including Visit Bucks County, The Pennsylvania Wilds, The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, Vanture Customs, River Wild Campervans, The Rex, and Beyond Borders Collective.

I also specialize in travel planning for national parks and adventure travel. My travel planning service provides detailed, personalized travel itineraries for individuals who may feel overwhelmed by the time or research needed to plan an epic adventure.

How did you build your audience on social media?

On Instagram, I have built my audience by posting consistently, engaging with others, and creating unique and interesting content. However, I feel the most important driver to my audience growth has been focusing on a very specific niche, Pennsylvania hiking trails and outdoor getaways. I found that others outdoorsy people in Pennsylvania are very interested in learning about hiking trails and getaways not far from home. By creating Pennsylvania hiking trail and state park guides, I my audience grew significantly.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to inspire others to spend more time outside in nature and discover adventure. When someone reaches out to me saying they hiked a trail I suggested or stayed at a hotel/AirBNB based on my recommendations, it signifies to me that I’m accomplishing what I set out to do. Creating a sense of community and sharing my love of the outdoors with others is so rewarding.
