Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emily Rich. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Emily, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
at this point, it feels like risk & i are close relatives lol.
i’ll speak on my most recent significant risk. in may of last year, i had to make a decision on whether i wanted to sign a new lease, or move out of my apartment.. moving out meant i’d be jumping into the unknown bc i only had one month to decide & i had no plan whatsoever. although, i had been craving change for a long time. on the other hand, staying in my apartment meant remaining comfortable. i decided i didn’t want to be comfortable in that way anymore so i moved in w/ my mom, which was a challenging transition after living alone for 7 years.
around the same time, god also called me to quit the job i was working to focus solely on my business & on the relationship w/ myself. may-december were some of the most challenging months of my life lol. i wouldn’t trade it for the world though. taking the risk of moving out & quitting that job propelled me in my journey. since then, my business has expanded, i’ve branched out into new areas of healing work, i live in a beautiful home that belonged to my grandmother & i love/trust myself more than i ever have.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
i am an intuitive guide & reiki master. i specialize in energy healing & self-mastery. i strive to bring people to a state of wholeness & power w/ in themselves. i do this through tarot readings & reiki therapy. i currently off tarot readings live over the phone/facetime, or i offer typed/audio readings via email. distant reiki sessions are available as well.
in addition to the services i offer, i make homemade products that can be used as tools on the spiritual/healing journey such as reiki-infused crystal necklaces, herbal blends & anointing oils.
what makes me most proud in my work is the growth of my clients. it warms my heart to see them start to love themselves unconditionally. i also feel proud when my clients begin to come to me only for perspective, rather than for guidance. i even feel proud when they stop coming to me all together. when my clients transition into that space, it means they have mastered themselves to a point where they feel they can trust themselves first & they can rely on their own personal relationship w/ god. i am not in the industry to lead anyone anywhere other than back to their authentic selves.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
word of mouth. hands down. in my opinion, networking is the strongest marketing strategy you can have. i don’t even mean just networking on social media, i mean in person. going to spaces that are related to your industry & even spaces that aren’t. you never know where a connection can take you. you could give your business card to somebody & never hear from them, but they may have passed your information along to somebody else & now you have a new client/customer. never skip an opportunity to put yourself out there. yes, social media is important, but it shouldn’t be all you rely on to bring in clientele.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
i would & i have in every lifetime!
