Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Acevedo
Hi Emily, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Having been blessed to grow up with a large family presence in my life, I spent many mornings, afternoons, and nights in the kitchen being surrounded by food and love. These deep roots brought me to the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, where I developed and practiced proper technique and skill to earn my certificate in baking and pastry arts. At the end of my program, I began an internship in Chester Township, New Jersey. Working in morris county and the greater area, has been such a fun and rewarding experience. These experiences would help me immensely when I open my own business during the height of the pandemic.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t know of any entrepreneur who could honestly explain their experience as a smooth road. From the beginning and still today, there are new challenges that I face. From inflation to changes in ownership and businesses that I’ve partnered with, I’ve learned that the best skill I could have is flexibility and to be able to pivot into a new direction.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Learning how to adapt to new situations and keeping your drive and passion for your business alive is what has kept our business growing. we never like to to feel too comfortable as we find that the excitement of new opportunities keep us motivated to make our business better and better every day.
