Emilie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
In my opinion, being successful requires having a clear understanding of what you value most in life and what you want to achieve. This involves setting priorities and working towards specific goals that align with your personal and professional vision.
For me, success means striking a balance between doing work that I am passionate about and spending quality time with my family. The pandemic made me realize that I was missing out on important moments with my family and also the opportunity to work closely with founders. That’s why I decided to transition into consulting, which has been a game changer for me.
Overall, I believe that success is subjective and depends on what is important to you. By setting clear priorities and working towards your goals with intention, you can achieve success on your own terms.

With over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, I have had the opportunity to work with companies of all sizes – from start-ups to medium-sized and large organizations. Through this, I realized how challenging it can be for smaller companies to make informed decisions and be satisfied with the fragrance and beauty products they launch.
They often lack the resources to hire all the experts that large companies have access to, which can be a major obstacle to success. To help bridge this gap, I founded Emilie Consulting, a consulting agency specializing in fragrance and beauty product strategy and development.
My goal is to empower start-ups to create effective, sustainable, and high-quality beauty products that reflect their values and vision. By providing expert guidance and support, I help entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of the beauty industry and make informed decisions that lead to successful product launches.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been a combination of referrals from my professional network and Linkedin. I’m extremely grateful for the trust my network and clients have placed in me, and their willingness to recommend my services to others. These referrals have been instrumental in expanding my client base and growing my business.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The book “Set Boundaries Find Peace” by Nedra Glover Tawwab has helped me learn to establish healthier boundaries and communicate them confidently. It has also helped me be more assertive in my communication, instead of assuming people will act or think a certain way without clearly phrasing my expectations.
