Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emelie Woodruff. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Emelie , thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was leaving a life that looked stable, without knowing what would come next.
On paper, my life made perfect sense; a job, an apartment, a routine… but it didn’t feel like the life I was meant to live. I had a gut feeling that staying would cost me something I couldn’t afford to lose.
So I quit my job, sold my apartment, and left the country with a suitcase, my puppy, and a one-way ticket. That step onto the airplane sent me across countries, through unexpected opportunities, and introduced me to incredible people, including the man I would later marry! The places I’ve seen and the people I’ve met have made me richer than any amount of money ever could.
I guess, in looking back on it now, the risk wasn’t leaving, it would have been staying.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Emelie Woodruff, founder of Holy Divine Official. My work guides people back to themselves through their body, mind, and spirit. Through movement, meditation, Reiki, and Life Force Activation.
For a long time, I was stuck in unbearable grief after losing my younger brother, just going through the motions but not really living. Breath, movement, and energy practices brought me back to my body, my heart, my spirit. From that place, my soul’s mission emerged: to help others find their footing in the moments when life cracks their hearts wide open, guiding them back to themselves when the world feels heavy, chaotic, or unbearable.
What sets my work apart is that I’ve walked the path myself. I’ve met my darkest shadows and have learned that balance can be restored. Transformation is rarely easy alone, but together we can shift patterns, face discomfort, and create lasting soul‑mind‑body growth.
I believe we each carry the entire universe within ourselves. Our own map, our own compass pointing us towards healing, happiness, peace and success. It’s easy to lose touch with that truth, as the world tells us that we are defined by getting, having, and doing.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to unlearn is believing that control equals safety. I used to think that if I planned perfectly, avoided risk, and followed all the rules, I could prevent disappointment, pain, or failure.
Then I lost my younger brother. Everything I thought I could control shattered in an instant. I had no choice but to face the truth: life doesn’t bend to our plans, and holding onto control only keeps us disconnected from ourselves and the present moment.
I’ve since learned that nothing is guaranteed. Life moves in moments… a heartbeat, a breath, a single choice can change everything. When we open ourselves to life, unexpected beauty and opportunity appear, revealing a world far larger than we imagined.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What’s helped me build my reputation is showing up consistently with authenticity and heart. I’ve always been raw and honest, sharing life’s ups and downs. I’m not here to promise a perfect life. I guide people through the tough times, helping them to see that they can navigate even the most challenging obstacles and find health and happiness along the way.
Something I noticed in the health and wellness space when I was going through some of my tougher challenges, is that much of it focuses exclusively on positivity. The struggles, the down times, and messy in-betweens are overlooked. This can create unrealistic expectations about how we should think, feel, or live, and sometimes even inadvertently make us feel worse! The truth is, we are all human. We all experience ups and downs, and we are all doing our best to navigate them. When this isn’t acknowledged, even well-intended messaging can slip into what many see as ‘toxic positivity.’ And that can have a very adverse affect on a person going through a difficult time. That’s why honesty matters. By acknowledging both the light and the difficult moments, we gain a more grounded and truthful perspective, from which real work and meaningful change can happen. From that place, I create experiences and spaces that help people reconnect with themselves through retreats, workshops, and one-on-one sessions, supporting transformation of body, mind, and spirit.
We are energy, and it never lies. That gut feeling, that quiet inner knowing is always telling us something , even when we’re told to doubt it… My work helps people step into that space beyond words, where they can feel, trust, and follow the truth their own energy is showing them through their mind, body and spirit.
