We recently connected with Elysia Mitchell and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Elysia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry
The biggest trend that I have been seeing is so many people want to be a “Entrepreneur” but they don’t know how much comes with it far as late nights, failure moments, having to be the content creator, the customer service rep, the up and downs the list goes on. It’s definitely not for the weak.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

What im most proud of is of course me lol .. and also my business and the continued support from the laid tribe without them none of this would be possible. Im truly grateful for every opportunity that comes my way for me and my business. Always keep God first no matter what
How did you build your audience on social media?
When I first got serious with social media it was kind of hard to build an audience. My business have always came from word of mouth before social media , so having to adapt to a different technique to get other people to actually see my work and learn about my business was a challenge social media wise. I started posting more and understanding my niche & what my audience liked to see. I feel like you have to be consistent with your posting. Sometimes i would just post just to be posting but then In figured out that still wasn’t the key to building your audience you have to know what they like to see. Reels are a good way to get your bramd out there.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was investing inventory. I say that because we hear invest , invest , so much but I feel like you can invest money into inventory but can you sale it? Do you know how to market the product? Have you calculated your profit correctly? These are the questions that I had to ask myself when I first started to sell hair I was all over the place lol only because I felt like I had the money to do the investing but I didn’t have the correct knowledge on how to sale a product. Now fast forward I have learn from that mistake and im better now lol. Its all about risk taking but dont be in a rush either.
